What to watch out for

  • Messages:

The song discusses drinking and casual sex. 50 Cent boasts about how hard he can party and removes himself from all responsibility for his drunken actions with lines like "I can't be responsible for what I say or I do when I talk intoxicated."
  • Violence:

    Not an issue.
  • Sex:

Women are featured in the song as sexual playthings for a drunken 50 Cent. "Shorty say i told her i love her i put her out the next mornin' sayin' bitch i must have been faded."
  • Language:

Women are referred to as bitches throughout the single and the "N" word is used twice and f--k and s--t are both used once.
  • Consumerism:

    Not an issue.
  • Drinking, drugs, & smoking:

The song is all about getting really drunk and not being held accountable for what you do when you're drunk. Hardcore partying is shown to be a measure of manhood for 50. "I need a drink, give me a drink,
I need a drink, shawty give me a drink."

What Parents Need to Know

This review of "I Get It In" (CD single) was written by Jacqueline Rupp

Parents need to know that this song promotes all the wrong messages: irresponsible drinking, rationalizing bad behavior, and objectifying women. Not only that, but 50 Cent brags about partying hard seven days a week, a lifestyle that would send even the most hardcore rapper to rehab.

More on "I Get It In" (CD single)

What’s the Story?

Produced by Dr. Dre, I GET IT IN is 50 Cent's second single released off of his fourth album Before I Self Destruct. The single features 50 Cent (known as "Fiddy") rapping about his propensity for intoxication and discusses his drunken exploits.

Is It Any Good?

"I Get It In" is the typical rap song that brags about partying prowess with lots of swagger and swing. Fiddy's lyrics are smooth and musically pleasant. His rhythmic verses flow easily, but his chorus of "Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, we get it in, I need a drink, give me a drink" lacks the sophistication some of his rap peers show even on explicit albums. This one's for grown up fans only.
