25 Things We Love About Twilight

Help Us Compile the Ultimate Twilight List

There's plenty to love about the Twilight saga -- picking just 25 things is like trying to choose between Edward and Jacob -- but we're asking you to help us compile the definitive list of what makes this vampire tale so beloved by fans. (Sorry, but Robert Pattinson only counts as one!)

My only issue with getting teens to read is that I have met kids that say "OMG! I LOVE Twilight! I'm reading it for the freaking 15th time!!"

They are reading but they are seriously obsessed and just going over and over a book that was not even that amazing. They're not reaching out and trying other books like I would hope so and if they do, they must be vampire books, and afterward, they must say how they loved Twilight more and wish it was more like it.

I'm not saying every fan is like this, but a lot are!

Oh well.... at least they're reading something right?

They are getting everyone to read. Seriously, all the kids at my school at least read Twilight. It's fantastic because before that, everyone was pretty much glued to the idea that reading for fun was lame, which really upset me. Reading is great and it really helps escape the real world once in a while. I hope after reading Twilight, teens will check out other books that are actually, no offense, better and realize how great reading can be.

I'm surprised Common Sense Media is rather somewhat glorifying Twilight instead of criticizing it like they do every other film and game with "sexual themes" because, lets face it, most girls are watching it because it shows hot guys and bare chests in it. Its kind of funny, really, apparently they think men and male teens can't watch sexually suggestive shows with hot women because it so-called makes them "perverted" (I'm pretty sure getting sexually excited is a natural response thing, CSM?). Whereas they seem to think its totally fine that girls watch Twilight with absolutely no idea that the same thing is happening in their heads when guys like us see "sexy" girls, and the producers know it. In a preview scene for New Moon, Jacob rips his shirt off, which obviously excites all the girls, and made them scream for more (the entire theater was practically shaking with it. However, nobody criticized it, nobody says "this is going to make girls perverted ". Now, lets say a show directed at male teens shows exposed breasts, or just really tight panties and a bra on a "sexy" girl, now all of the sites across the globe like this one throw up their arms and yell INAPPROPRIATE! Strange, hunh? I'm not criticizing Twilight, I'm just pointing out what I've noticed.

Uh. Twenty five things??
How in the world do you expect me to pick just twenty five things?!

1. The fact there are books. The movie = laaame.
2. Bella is female but more sexual than Edward. The male isn't stereotyped as the one to pressure, but rather abstains.
3. Bella doesn't act ashamed about her sexual desire.
4. When Bella was pregnant, it wasn't a case of pro-Life no matter what. She was given a CHOICE and chose to keep the baby. I don't think it necessarily portrays life-only qualities that some people are freaking out over.
5. I love Bella's semi-sarcastic voice.
6. Billy Black ftw.
7. Leah Clearwater.
8. Carlisle is an attractive one.
9. Not all vampires have extra powers, making them seem more individual.
10. Emotions are well-described.

Why I don't like twilight:
1. Lots of plot flaws.
2. A degree of inaccuracy in portrayal of Quileutes.
3. Bella has four guys who really want her. She is instantly loved. Edward was behaving strangly at first because he secretly loves her? It sounds a little too perfect to me.
4. Sparkly vampires?
5. Sparkly VAMPIRES?
6. Nosferatu is ashamed because of them.
7. The way people are insanely obsessed. You know its out of hand when the actor must tell everyone: I AM NOT EDWARD CULLEN.
8. SPARKLY VAMPIRES?!
9. The person Jacob imprinted on was too convenient like the majority of the plot.
10. It is so predictable.

TEAM EDWARD ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU ARE ON TEAM JACOB YOU ARE LOSING IT!!! I LOVE YOU EDWARD!! YUR MY FAVEORITE VAMPIRE!!!!!! WOO!!! BELLA IS SOO LUCKY!!! U ROCK EDWARD!!

6. The Twilght Series supports teenage sexual abstinence. The character Edward is a virgin and is very strong and immovable about waiting to have sexual relations with Bella till after she has graduated from high school and they are married. Very reflective of the author's conservative religious background.
