Omidyar Network promises $4.25M to Common Sense Media

Common Sense Media said Wednesday that the Omidyar Network has committed $4.25 million to the organization over the next three years.
San Francisco-based Common Sense said the money will be used for general operating expenses. The company's business model is structured to generate earned income from media distribution partnerships of its entertainment reviews, as well as user and community-generated content.
Founded in June 2004 by Pierre Omidyar, the founder of San Jose-based eBay (NASDAQ:EBAY), and his wife Pam, Omidyar Network is a mission-based investment group committed to enabling economic, social, and political self-empowerment.
Common Sense Media is an independent, non-partisan organization focused on improving the impact of the media on kids and families.
