Kellie Krug Joins Common Sense Media as Chief Marketing Officer

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Common Sense Media announced today that Kellie Krug has
joined the organization as its Chief Marketing Officer. She will report to
Common Sense Media President Anne Zehren.

Krug comes to Common Sense after serving as the senior vice president of
marketing at Visa USA for the past six and a half years. Prior to her time at
Visa, Krug amassed nearly 20 years of marketing experience, 10 years of which
was in the kids-and-family sector at organizations like Gymboree and Imaginarium
Toy Stores.

“Kellie’s extensive marketing experience with some of the most recognizable
brands in America makes her an excellent addition to the Common Sense team,”
Zehren said. “We’re especially excited to have someone of Kellie’s caliber come
on board during a period of such tremendous growth. Common Sense’s media reviews
and parenting tips are now available in more than 50 million homes, and we’re
hoping to reach millions more this year.”

At Visa, Krug oversaw all of the organization’s marketing communications and
worked closely with Visa’s merchant partners, including Target, Marriott, and
Starbucks. She also led the marketing teams responsible for increasing customer
loyalty, creating rewards programs, and developing promotions.

“I’m excited to join Common Sense because I believe the organization is at
the forefront of an important movement,” Krug said. “Kids today spend more time
with the media than they do with their parents or in school. To me, Common Sense
is so important because it provides families with the information they need to
deal with the new 24/7 media world that kids are living in. In the coming weeks
and months, I hope to help the organization make the transition from successful
startup to household name.”
