All by Myself
Did we miss something on diversity?
Research shows a connection between kids' healthy self-esteem and positive portrayals in media. That's why we've added a new "Diverse Representations" section to our reviews that will be rolling out on an ongoing basis. You can help us help kids by suggesting a diversity update.

What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that All By Myself is the interactive version of Mercer Mayer's popular children's book in which Little Critter shows off all of the things he can do by himself -- even though he doesn't always do them perfectly! There are three options: Read to Me, Read it Myself, and Autoplay. Kids can also tap on objects in the illustrations to hear the word read aloud and see how it's spelled, or tap the mouse in each illustration to play a bonus mini-game. The number of mice found is displayed after the story is finished.

Is It Any Good?
ALL BY MYSELF is a fun and light-hearted story with a positive message about independence and trying your best even though you might not be able to do something perfectly every time. The app contains nothing that might be considered scary or too intense for young children, and the presentation is top-notch too. The app does justice to the original Little Critter book while adding plenty of new ways for kids to interact with the story.
