What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Animal Math Games for Kids is an education game for iOS and Android devices and can also be purchased on Amazon. Kids test their skills by answering math problems. The game includes three free skill sets and 15 additional paid sets. Animal characters travel along with kids through the different skills, and a narrator gives lots of encouragement. But be careful, because progress isn't saved and can't be tracked. Read the developer's privacy policy for details on how your kid's information is collected, used, and shared and any choices you may have in the matter, and note that privacy policies and terms of service frequently change.

What’s It About?
There are 18 different games, or skill sets, for kids to practice in ANIMAL MATH GAMES FOR KIDS. Skills are aligned with Common Core State Standards for kindergarten math. Kids choose a skill set, such as Counting to 10 or Addition to 5, and answer a set of problems by tapping on the correct answer. An animal travels along a path, completing one step of the path for each correct answer. If kids get an answer wrong, they can keep trying, but there's no feedback or explanation. Sounds, applause, and bursts of stars encourage kids as they play. Kids can't create individual profiles, so their progress is not saved or tracked in any way.
Is It Any Good?
The beautiful graphics are engaging, and the games cover a variety of skills, but the lack of learning support and the inability to track progress limits this app to a quick practice or review tool. Young kids will likely enjoy the colorful themes and the animal characters, which may motivate them to practice their math skills. It could be helpful to have simple, visual explanations for the problems that kids get wrong. The ability to create individual profiles with progress tracking would help parents see how kids are doing. So, while there's some solid, skill-building practice here, look to other apps for a deeper learning experience.
