What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Funko Pop! Blitz is a match-3 game for iOS and Android devices. It has no objectionable content. Players use gold coins to keep playing when they run out of turns or lives, and these coins can be earned by playing or bought with real money. Players get one free spin on the prize wheel each day, but can get extra spins by watching ads. The game's inspired by a line of toys, while these toys are themselves based on popular movies and TV shows. As a result, some players may want to buy the real toys. Read the developer's privacy policy for details on how your (or your kids') information is collected, used, and shared, and any choices you may have in the matter, and note that privacy policies and terms of service frequently change.

What’s It About?
Inspired by Funko's POP! line of toys, FUNKO POP! BLITZ is a match-3 puzzle game, and thus isn't driven by a story. It does mention something in the beginning of some guy needing to restart the factory, but it's hardly mentioned after you begin and doesn't drive the action. Instead, your only motivation is to see if you can solve the next puzzle. Players receive a minute of time to clear as many matched Funko Pop heads as possible, clearing them with special items if you match four or more icons. Also, you'll select a Funko Pop character, who will trigger a special ability depending on the number of matches you make, allowing you to clear more of the board.
Is It Any Good?
While some will find this puzzle game to be inventive, others might not find it all that puzzling. Inspired by Funko's wildly popular POP! toys, Funko Pop! Blitz is a match-3 puzzle game that, like similar games, has you moving pieces on a board so they line up or connect 3 or more pieces. But instead of having to fulfill certain conditions -- "clear 37 blue tiles" -- this instead requires you to earn a certain number of points before time runs out. Even when there are conditions, they're just secondary, and don't work like they do in other games. For instance, if you have to clear dirt from the playing field, cleaning the whole area doesn't complete the objective, it merely prompts more dust to be deposited, with your goal being to clean up a certain number of times. You also get to play with the toy of your choice, and if you match a certain number of their tiles, it activates their special skills, which include giving you special pieces.
Because of these new mechanics, this puzzle game is a lot more frantic than other match-3 game... which may be a problem for serious puzzle people. This is decidedly a bigger test of your reflexes than your intellect, especially since your objective is always the same: get more points. It also doesn't help that the game doesn't tell you how many points you need, or that it never seems to be that many, since you can pass every puzzle without ever failing. But while this means Funko Pop! Blitz isn't going to be the current puzzle game of choice, its different, faster approach does make it a fun diversion for when you'd like to give your brains a bit of a rest.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about spending money. When you run out of turns or lives in Funko Pop! Blitz, you can use gold coins to keep playing. But while you can earn this currency by solving puzzles, you can also buy it with real money, so how do you decide how much money to spend on a free game?
This game is inspired by Funko Toys, who are clearly hoping it will make you want to buy more of their products, but does this make you enjoy this game less, or does it not affect you?
