What’s It About?
The main page contains: Geometry Cabinet; Games; 3D; Settings; Note to Parents; Glossary; and My Points. Tap Games and choose from Shapes or Match Them Up. There are four games under Shapes and three in Match Them Up. Kids earn points for correct answers. 3D shows shapes such as cubes and spheres. The glossary includes shape definitions; the Note to Parents is an in-depth explanation of teaching geometry; the two settings are for language and timer; and My Points keeps tab on a kid's points earned. Lots to choose from in a clean, simple layout.
Is It Any Good?
Montessori Geometry surprises with how much detailed math learning can be stuffed into such a fun package. There's everything from a fun find the shapes game embedded into the Geometry Cabinet that also takes kids around the world to famous places, to a 3D shapes feature that allows kids to look at shapes from all sides. In total, kids are introduced to six shape families with 23 shapes total in memorable, meaningful ways. The Note to Parents is also packed with helpful information for parents who want to know more about how effective, early-stages math learning happens. A brilliantly creative yet simple geometry app.
