What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Peep Ciencias: Colores is an education app entirely in Spanish based on the TV show Peep and the Big Wide World that engages kids with animated videos about colors and guides grown-ups on how to explore key concepts through questions, conversation, exploration, and activities. It's also available in English, and is one of a series. The animated video is geared toward kids, but the rest of the session is designed as a tool for grown-ups to facilitate offscreen learning. The sessions are paced out across four weeks, suggesting two sessions per week. Videos for parents explain the rationale behind the sessions and model the educational journey they will undertake with their kids. The app provides step-by-step directions and suggested questions to guide grown-ups as they engage kids in learning about colors and key science skills. Read the developer's privacy policy for details on how your (or your kids') information is collected, used, and shared and any choices you may have in the matter, and note that privacy policies and terms of service frequently change.

What’s It About?
PEEP CIENCIAS: COLORES is a digital platform entirely in Spanish that provides parents a guide on how to facilitate learning around colors while incorporating age-appropriate science skills. It includes videos of a parent modeling how to use the app to engage kids, incorporate science, and help them make real-world connections. There are eight sessions altogether and each builds upon prior learning. Each session follows a similar structure, incorporating an animated video to introduce kids to new concepts, step-by-step ideas for kids and grown-ups to play and explore together, questions to launch conversation about concepts, and ideas to explore concepts further. Through Peep Ciencias: Colores, kids will explore colors through activities such as mixing paint or experimenting with color and light. The kids' videos, tutorial, directions, and prompts are all in Spanish.
Is It Any Good?
Explore colors and age-appropriate science skills through fun video clips and clear directions that will help grown-ups engage kids in hands-on learning and real-world connections -- all in Spanish. Peep Ciencias: Colores is designed for kids and grown-ups to enjoy together. The focus isn't what's displayed on-screen, but how to use media to lift learning and bring concepts introduced through the app to life. The design of the app engages kids with cute and vivid animation, but emphasizes offscreen conversations, activities, and exploration. It's extremely easy to follow; the app spells out what materials you'll need, prompts on what to say, questions to ask, and extension ideas, and provides videos that explicitly model what the learning could look like. It even shows parents the age-appropriate science vocabulary and skills that are addressed in each session. Families may be left wanting more content after finishing the eighth session, but the suggested activities could engage kids over and over again. For parents who want to foster bilingualism, it's also a great way to talk about colors using Spanish. Overall, it's is an awesome digital tool that will help families explore colors and science skills on- and offscreen with engaging videos and lessons that emphasizes exploration and hands-on activities. Best of all, it provides a platform for kids and parents to bond over learning.
