Sex, Violence, Alcohol, and the NFL

Campaign Results

Thanks to your support, more than 1,000 emails urging action against the airing of inappropriate ads during NFL broadcasts have been sent directly to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's inbox. That number is impressive, but it's the comments many of you sent along that really tell the story. Here's a sample:

Of course, not everyone has the same concerns about this issue, and we've gotten a few critical comments, too:

In addition, our video clip reel of some of those bad ads has been watched nearly 2,000 times on Common Sense Media's YouTube channel, and our campaign Web page, www.commonsensemedia.org/bad-ads, has been viewed more than 4,500 times.

We have written a letter to the commissioner asking how he'll respond to these emails and comments from parents and football fans, and we hope to hear what he has to say very soon. In the meantime, please keep the emails coming, and share our report with other parents and friends who may want to make their voices heard. We hope you'll continue this discussion with other parents and Common Sense Media on our Bad Ads discussion board.
