I loved the book. It lays down some pretty controversial topics but present them through a character who makes responsible choices. As the reader you feel for Katerine, and begin to understand the pressures she is going through. I read this book when I was 21, and I should have read it in highschool when I first started having sex. I was in a serious relationship just like Katerine, atleast so I thought. However, this book would have opened doors to being safe when having sex, and all girls need to know their options. This is a great book to present this topic. Still today in our society it isn't okay for girls to have sex with multiple people, but for some reason it is okay for boys to have sex with multiple people. Girls get a bad reputation, and boys get a pat on their back by their friends and fathers. This book allows for the girl to expand on her side of the story, and should be a book that all teenage or preteen girls read at some point.

Great honest look at "doing it" for the first time

I read this book when I was a teen, and I really appreciated th honesty that Judy Blume infuses in her characters. The situations are definitely advanced, and you probably don't want your kids making them too early. But the way they are handled in the book, and the natural feelings and consequences to the characters make this a great way for kids (especially girls) to understand the emotional implications of having sex, and the internal confusion it will cause. An honest portrayal of these issues does more to promote abstinence and waiting than a lot of stern lectures or denial.

Excellent Mature Book About Sex and Love

Forever deals with first sex and first love maturely and honestly. Obviously, sex is the books theme and is discussed candidly and semi-explicitly. Erections and intercourse are described explicitly. The feelings surrounding sexuality in relationships are included as well as the important relaization that first relationships don't always last. Excellent for 14/15 and up.

Forever was amazing. I read it when I was 11, and honestly, I dont think it was appropriate at that time. although it was not necessarily appropriate it was an amazing book.

Dear Parents: Not For Teens !

Im only 13, but I LOVE READING! I picked this book at my school library and i thought it was just about love, nothing sexual. But i recall the first line stated " Sybil had been laid by at least 6 guys" or something similar. I didn't think to go on, but i didn't think i should judge it by the first. But i was wrong. Katherine thinks she has fallen in love and has sex with her boyfriend...and she calls it 'making love'. But the book goes into detail, and describes WAY TOO MUCH information or detail about sex, e.g. how it feels, positioning etc. my opinion is that this book was completely inappropriate for teens my age and even a little bit older. Oh and by the way im not sure how to work the iffy,on and off thing so im sorry!

Honest, but not the best. Beware of sexual content.

I didn't like this book. I just didn't find it to be good. The story was pretty lame, but the main issue was the way the sex scenes were described. I did not expect so much detail. The book was honest though and I think she did a good job with that. But still overall I was not a fan.

    Great if you're mature enough

I personally really liked this book. But without a doubt it is for older readers. Its the love story of two high school seniors and they have sex a few times. They sex itself is described in great detail but it is vulger. Judy blume uses more clinical terms like "penis" rather than "d***"

    The book was good

When I read this book I was a little shocked. The book did teach me a lesson though. In the book it has a website were teens can look if they have any questions. Judy Blumes's book are book about realife. Her books have taught me lessons about life.

All I can say is, wow.

I litterally just got done reading Forever... I just HAD to write my opinion on it. First, I'm 13 years old. Second, i DO NOT recommend this book for teens 13 or below. Some of the content was... A litle disturbing to read, and they did make love multiple times in the book. I read the whole thing in the matter of hours, I couldn't put it down! It was very well written, but the content was for mature audiances.

    must be at least 14!

i enjoyed this book a lot. its realistic and it definitely had some parts that surprised me. it DOES have a lot of descriptive sex parts so i would suggest anyone really mature of 14 and older to read this book.

very very good, but a caution for sheltered children

I wasn't the least bit sheltered as a young child so, nothing in this book came as a surprise to me. But, if you haven't had "the talk" with you child, this may confuse them greatly. If you're willing to let your child read this book, it tells the tole of the emotions that are tied in sex. It was worth reading, and it was an easy read.

    mature readers only!!

OMG...this book is awesome. It hides nothing and tells only the truth. This book is for mature kids that know what they want in life. This book shouldn't cahnge your view of sexual reationships.

I threw the book when i finished!

Hey i'm natasha and i'm 14.. I read this book today and couldnt put it down- until the end.. I know many people are saying that its good that they didn't stay together but i disagree.. I mean when i read books i like them to be better then real life.. the relationship that micheal and kath shared was amazing i mean he was so good for her.. he did everything he could and was truely just perfect for her and at the end i was just so connected with the book and i felt like i was living it and when she ended it with him i felt for him.. i just couldnt beleive it and i truely sort of hated her.. i don't know i mean i know i sounds crazy but i just really loved them together.. i guess i wish i had something like that and it mad me mad when she just threw it away when he was truely in love with her!!

a must read for all girls!

i read this a year ago, at the very beginning of 7th grade when i was 12. yeah it was young but i think i was mature enough to handle it. I think that middle school girls should read it (as long as they are mature) and all high school girls should read it!!! It is definitely a must read!!!

wait till you are at least 12 to read this.

i read this last year, and i dont think that was a good choice. it's a fantastic book, but i suggest waiting till you feel you're more mature, because it pretty much all about sex.

A good book if you're mature enough to handle it!!!

I read this book last night. It took me about 5 hours. I stayed up till 4 a.m. I love this book it is realistic and not fantasy. I think this is good for teenagers but it depends on how mature you are. They do go into some detail but I think it's a good book especially since so many books have a happy ending. I think everyone knows life isn't like that and love should be depicted in a realistic fashion like in this book.

    Must read FOR EVERy girl.

I LOVE this book! I read it at my school lib, it's so good and real.It doesn't create some fantasy world where good relationships last a lifetime and all that bull. It describes sex, but the teens handle it maturely and are responsible. read read read read read.

I think that every young girl needs to read this book

I know this book is inaporperit for some Teenager but I think that it shows that most relationship in High School will not last forever, i use to think that if a nice guy comes along we will last forever and this book changed my opinon on this idea . I like the way she went along with telling the story. Just because that the main charters in the book have sex does not mean that every kid should not be able to read the book that helped me understand that most things do not last FOREVER.
