    good book

this book sertantly is darker and more scary then the rest that's for sure. the whole book focuses on a man who is beilieved to have murdered 10 people and betrayed harry potter's parents. and there is plenty of vilonce but still a great book.

Rowling proves herself to be quite the genious of an author.

Far too many book series will have a successful first book, and then the second and third books follow the exact same formula, and this results simply as just more of the same. This is not so with Rowling. This book is quite a bit darker and edgier, as well as more frightening from my perspective, as well as simply not the same in style. Rowling so perfectly and realistically transitions Harry and the gang from kids to teenagers. The subplots and twists are not only incredible, but frequent to no end. I highly reccomend this shocking, engaging, page turning book to everyone 10 and older.

    Harry Potter RULES!!!!!!!!!!

Harry faces many new challenges this year. He goes throughout almost the whole year seeing the Grim, a dark of of death. Harry faces Boggarts, Werewolves, Dementors, and many more strange creatures in the third installment of Harry Potter. This edition will have readers on the edge of their seats throughout the whole book. I would reccomend this book for kids 9 and up.

    An Excellent Addition

By the time The Prisoner of Azkaban was released in 1999, I think Rowling began to realize that her audience wasn't only children anymore, which is a good thing, because this addition to the Potter series takes a plunge toward darkness. There is a very mysterious and dark aura around this book's story that the ones before didn't seem to have. The twists are amazing, and a main antagonist that wasn't Lord Voldemort made for a pleasant change. The book is considerably longer than the two that came before it, and may be intimidating to younger readers, but I think that the sometimes complex concepts of the story can be grasped by children over eight or nine.

    My favourite H.P. book

This is the best one in my opinion because it's reaching the turning point where Harry is becoming a teenager. It also has a lot of humour. Some parents might not like that Harry lies about his name when he runs away and is on the Knight Bus. Come to think of it, they might not like his running away either. But he had a good reason and the book doesn't portray irresponsible behaviour as a good thing, so I would still recommend this to any children.

    How does she do it?

Part-way through this book I looked up and thought to myself, "how does she do it?" And that is a questions asked throughout all the world. Rowling introduces such a world, such a place, such a universe, that everyone sometimes drifts off and forget this was written by a person and isn't really real. Shockingly wonderful, in all fan's heads sometimes we refuse to believe it isn't real. Rowling strikes gold again, introducing more horrors, more suprises, more laughs. Parts of it are scary, anyone will admit. All the evidence points to the fact that someone by Hogwarts is trying to murder. There are 'dementors' creatures who suck all the happiness out of you and eventually permorm a 'kiss'; a way to suck out your soul through your mouth. Some people say butterbeer is a problem. I disagree. Butterbeer is a made-up magical drink with a pinch of alchohol. Probably less. If you drank gallons of it you probably still wouldn't even be tipsy. Hagrid does get drunk, and that's a little problem. Otherwise, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is a wonderful, fabulous book that gives kids of all ages and even adults a wonderful read with things like love, laughs, and peace, to things like horror, relief, and shock. There's even a lot of the fabulous idea of time travel, too. Which brings us back to our first question. How does she do it? We may never know.
