I LOVE these books. I have read all of the books up to Invasion Of The Boy Snatchers one and is almost done with it and it's only been about 3 months. I'm always reading them. I think it is appropriate for ages 9 and up. The main story line is that a spoiled girl with a rich daddy in charge of her own exclusive clique has her daddy's poor friends move into their guest house with their son thats one or two grades lower and their daughter who is in the same age as massie the main character and she tries to join the clique and when she finally gets in massies other friends try to get their friends and cousin to join.

The Clique Is Awesome....Except for Sexual Behavior
I love The Clique series especially this book but this book does have some sexualbehavior by 13 and 12 year olds.A girl wears very revealing outfits including tight low rise jeans,a fur covered coat that doesn't cover her midriff,a gold tube top that her breasts don't fit into and see through harem pants. She also talks about kissing boys and having them at her 4th grade parties, jokes about her virginity, and uses her breasts and sexual dancing to get boys attention.Another characther longs for a kiss from her boyfriend but accidently kisses her friends crush thanks to her friends cousin"Nina the Sex Machina".A girl takes off her bra in class and throws it across the room.Girls talk about cup sizes, kissing and looking sexy.

simple summary from a dad of four
Taking the Lord's name in vain several times. Hidden video camera's in locker rooms. Strict mother with "a cross" necklace is made out to be the jerk. Nothing of value here at all.

ok, kind of dumb but a fun read for tweens
even though there are rich snotty girls in this book it is a quick easy read for your teen. there was no sexual content, drugs, or violence, and that is hard to find in many books for teenagers. it was okay.

No merit whatsoever.
This book is nothing but trash. It is not well-written and the badly developed characters care only for clothes, boys and popularity. The book's characters are all middle schoolers, but they discuss kissing, virginity, dieting, and clevage like the high schoolers in other chicklit. Altogether, this book is full of catty, meanspirited girls who are unrealistic. Not to mention bad role models for your tween. Keep kids away!

best books i've read in a while
i have read 5 books in the series "The Clique" i believe they show my daughter how not to act. it tells what happens when you do the bad things. you can lose friends. In these books there is a lot of drama and meanness, but this is exactly how it is for our children in the real world. So what if they are opsessive over clothes, it just shows good hygiene and a healthy hobby. Some parents have more money than others and are able to buy these designer names. There is nothing wrong with designer names. If these books keep my child reading then so be it. Books cause childrens brains to enhance which is a wonderful thing. Really these drama books are interesting and keep my child reading. My child would not continue reading the books if it had no drama. I mean who would read a book that basically says "i went to school, i did my work, i went home, and had no crush on a single boy all day." Exactly! no one would want to read a book like that.

get over it-and yourself
OK I think we can all be mature adults and admit that these books ARE similar to the life today, maybe you should talk to your children around this age and you would find that out. Though it does go over board on the designer clothes and accessories, some of us can afford that and if your children want to read about this, let them. No need to be strict and over protective. These are harmless books and adults are just making too much of a deal with them. Especially when these adults can’t spell AWFUL. Maybe they should pick up a book and learn to use correct grammar. =]

Oi.
Aweful book and unrealistic. This book is for girls who wish for some LV Purses and twenty boyfriends. The behavior and lifestyle of all the girls are too similar to be real, and just just plain distorted. This is a book about stuck-up rich girls being mean while you enjoy it. It's pointless, with no meaning, and shallow. Save your time girls, and keep dreaming. If you want to read the rest of the books, don't bother. They're all the same but with a .1% twist.

Why all the "iffy" reviews??
Lookie here, I'm not even going to put concerns and highlights. This series is a bunch of hilarious books about teenage girls who are completely obsessed with their appearances and are rude to girls who are apparently "not pretty enough" or "not fashionable enough". Lisi has made this series, but does she really promote these girls' behaviors? I don't think so. An AWESOME series, I could read those books all day. Anyone with common sense would know that these girls are fictional and that they shouldn't have an effect on reality. I highly reccomend this book for teens.

The Besy Clique Book
I loved this book and The whole series but this one was definitely the best. I just didn't like one particular charcter Nina. Nina is obsessed with looking 'sexy' and making boys like her. She wears VERY revealing outfitsand tells Massie her 'cups' could steal her boyfriend(she even tries to). Nina is mean too she tells Massie she is stuck up and to do something about her weak legs.Other then that i enjoyed this book even Nina's crazy additude was funny

U r rating this book as a adult... not as a tween which is who reads these books! the clique is not stupid or badly wwritten... i don't thinnk a bestselling series would be badly written! before u go off and give another bad review about books like these think! I love the Clique
The main characters are so easy to hate! I love to hate Massie and Alicia. But i liked this book, i don't think the message was bad. Message: 7/10 Sex: 5/10 Language: 6/10: b-----, h---, but not much else

The Clique Books are great! What are you guys talking about?
I think this series is fabulous. From an adult's perspective, it has a bad message. But it really makes kids think about morals with a funny tone all through it. For a mature preteen, this is pretty good to read. They won't be able to put it down. But, nonetheless, parents should be wary if kids don't already have strong beliefs about behaviour, friendships, and self esteem.

Good Book for tweens and teens
I have read all these books but this one is really cool for the tweens and teens crowd. It's very interesting and I could not put this book down! However this book does mention a lot of... boys... So parents make sure you have taught all of the values you'd like to instill in your child before they read this book. Overall this is a good book for tweens and teens.

Okay, these books are beyond terrible. Who wants to read bout some bratty girls who only care about boys, clothes, and other things girls like that worry about. I mean seriously, PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR KIDS READ THIS! before you let your child read this why don't you read it? It's TERRIBLE! Sorry to all of you out there who like it. (i'm just giving you my opinion!)

very good, funny book
I really like this book. The girls have a very bad attitude, but it's funny to see that you don't have to be rich to have rich friends, like Claire does. I think, if your kid wants to read it, let them. They might end up calling you a LBR (loser beyond repear) or an EW (eternal wannabe).
- I rate this title on for age 2 and give it
good book
i love the clique. the girls are a little superficial and mean but it shows you how not to act. Most everything that happens to them happens to most everyone (except dial l for loser) it is a really good book

Love It!!!
I love the Clique! They are so funny and have relatable situations. The girls are sometimes mean and snotty, but it can be funny. A lot about boys and shopping, but a good message: You can always count on your friends. This a must read for every girl who likes to shop and loves fashion.

well if u want ur daughter to be shallow...
i read these books in 5th grade and they really messed me up! i mean, i ended up spending a bunch of money on expensive bags and clothing and i became shallow, stupid, and mean!!! luckily, i stopped reading them be4 i got fully brainwashed into believing that u were only cool by doing these things!
