I loved it! I dissagree with whoever rated it iffy. They said that the girls behaved badly and at times stupidly and their parents are no better. They must not have teenage daughters because that is all tipical behavior of the avorage teen girl. The parents do not act stupidly at all they make a couple of mistakes but no one is perfect! Over all i give the book five stars!

Contemporary Judy Blume storyline...
Through this extraordinary pair of pants, the story follows a group of girls who are growing up. Somewhat of a contemporary Judy Blume-type novel, this story shows that what seems so immediately vital (boy crushes) (sarcastic views) is not as important as each girls eyes are opened to new life experiences. This story is sweet, gives girls a look into growing up experiences, and is brough to a nice closure as the girls reunite and reflect on their summer.

No one is prefect, this book shows that no matter what you have done, your friends will be there to pick you up. It isnt a walt disney "happy ending book" it gives events that might happen to your daughter and what teen girls struggle with today. its amazing book, and it will keep your daughter wanting more.

Amazing Story that all Teens should Read
I have read a couple of the reviews on here and I believe that people who find this book inappropriate for teens under 14 are ridiculous. Do people not understand that children these days are having sex in 6th grade, that's 12 years old!! If parents are not talking about it at home, they have to learn some way and I think this is a really good book that teaches so much that you go through during your life, not even when you are a teen.

for mature 12 year olds, and 13+. awesome book!
I love this book as well as the rest of the series!! There are a few sexual things with one of the characters, but it is still appropriate for a mature preteen, and defiantly a teen. But that is my opinion. Loved the book!!!

Great Story with Amazing Characters
I absolutely love this book! I wish I was one of the sisterhood girls. Ann Brashares has created incredible, realistic characters that I would love to be friends with myself. Each individual girls has her own story and issues, together they have a bond that helps them get through their struggles and enjoy their celebrations. It is difficult for me to choose which girl I like the best. I identify the most with Lena, think Tibby is hilarious, would like to have the energy and livelihood that Bridget has, and feel like Carmen and I both are passionate in every relationship we are in

Perfect for Middle Schoolers, Great Book
I really liked this book, and the rest of the series. I read it at age 13, in 8th grade. The sex isn't really an issue because it is very subtle, and not described. This series is very good, and even though it does have movies for the books, I believe it should have more recognition, because it is practically as good as Twilight, and probably way more well written than Twilight is. I love Twilight, don't get me wrong, but Ann Brashares has a great writing style, and she's just a great writer.

a great book for tweens and teens
I read this when I was about 11 or 12 and loved it. Yeah, there's kissing and some of the girls act stupidly...but doesn't that happen in real life? Yes. I think this IS a good book for tweens and a wonderful story about friendship.

are you too young?
some people think this book is only for 14 years old. but my friend and i read this book at only 12 years old. now we have started a book club about it. i think if you arew mature enough to handle it then it is will be a really good book. but if you decide to act silly and make jokes about what the girls then i wouldn't read this book.but also you can still be too young . i wouldn't recommend this book for 8 years old and younger becasuse it is a lottle too mature for those ages

I rate this title iffy for age 2 and give itDisappointing...
Having heard much about this book, I was expecting an amazingly written book with a great plot. The plot was great, but the author basically jusy quit writing. It seems like she didn't even bother to think up a good ending. What happens with Lena and Kostos? And Bridget and Eric? I guess their are more books left to read, but I was hoping to have some loose ends tied up. The author set up so much for the plot, and then just stopped writing. The characters are great, but I wish that the author could have went into further detail about them. Actually, I wish she would have went into detail about everything. The author's lack of description kept me from getting into the book. Overall, the book was disappointing to me. There is some stuff that isn't appropirate for kids, too.

great book
The sisterhood of the traveling pants is like a melodrama with people running away and then being brought back to there senses and realise that they don’t need to do this, and also people falling in love with someone they know they cant have and need there friends to help them know that. The main characters are Tibby, Lena, Carmen and Bridget who have been best friends for life. In the summer they are all going to spend it apart they are very sad that this has happened. They jeans that they have a they are taking it in turns believing that the pants are magic pants because they fitted them all. But I don’t really think that they are magic I think its just coincidence. In Greece lena is being pushed into a relationship which she doesn’t know if she loves the person or not. In the end she ends up going out with him which then she breaks up with him because long distance relationships are to hard. While this is going on Carmen is devastated bacuse her dad got remarried .

I loved this book, although when i read it i think i was too young. i read it when i was in third grade and 9, but i still loved it. the sex, alcohol, and language was an issue, but i did understand it. i don't think i was ready for it then, but now i would be , i recomend it to people 11 and up. it is a GREAT book.

One of my favorites
This book is amazing! CSM is really wrong on the "much kissing." There is really only one scene of kissing and some implied (e.g., Effie and the waiter, Bridget and Eric). This is a fantastic book for any teenage girl to read. The Pants give the characters courage inspiration, confidence, and makes their friendship even stronger. It's inspiring and a must-read for best friends.

A must read book
This is now one of my all time favorite books. I like the way the author takes a real teenage girls personality and splits it up into four girls. Every girl has a little bit of Carmen Tibby lena And Bridget in her. I think that this is an awsome book. If you ever get a chance read it

I cried and laughed and everything in between
After you read one of the sisterhood books, you feel like you are best friends with all these girls. I am in love with these books, and if you're atleast 12 or 13, you will definately love them too.

sweet...
This is a really good book. It has too much sexuality in it, but that doesn't take too much away from the book itself. For example, Bridget is a fifteen-year-old girl who has sex with a college student, who is a coach at her soccer camp. However, it is a great girl book about friendship. No matter what hardships and troubles that any of the girls go through, they can always rely on their friends to help them through it.
