    A books for boys!

I am a junior high librarian and am always trying to find books that will appeal to reluctant reader boys. I am happy to find a series that they will not only read but will recommend to their friends. Alex is a likable, wholesome character, who doesn't really want to be a spy and take over where his uncle left off. Yet he meets the challenge with determination and integrity. Violence, yes. But I'd put in a category with comic book action. And since the movie came out, girls will read it, too!

    Exciting, but violent

These books would be exciting for teens, but be forewarned the violence is pretty extreme. Hardly any of the adults are trustworthy.

Great to Read together with your kids

I loved this book and also the series. We had it on CD and listen to it on a long road trip. It is an interesting and exciting yarn for both parent and kids. While there is some violence, it is tame compared to anything that is seen on cartoon network. Both my boys have read the entire series from cover to cover. The page turning narrative is wonderful in so far as it promotes the idea of reading for pleasure. That's hard to do if you have to compete with an xbox.

    Cool stuff for teens

My daughter and I are Brits now living in - and loving! - the US. These books are written by Anthony Horowitz, a prolific and very talented serious drama writer for British TV. However he makes time to write the Alex Rider series I don't know, but they are all good, if...as the review says...a little farfetched. There is violence but in a definite good versus evil way - hugely enjoyable and imaginative.

    Horowitz at his best

I started reading this series when I was 10 and I just finished the last book in the series and I loved it. Stormbreaker contains no objectable content that I found disturbing to audiences over the age of 9 or 10. Moms and Dads this is good action/adventure book for your daughters/sons to read. They learn a little bit about the British government and how it operates and indulges from a fictional character's perspectives missions that CIA agents sometimes go on everyday. This book gives people an oppurtunity to see what our government and homeland security agencies our going through each day. Really enjoyed this book and recommend it to anybody.

    Whats the inside like?

There are some issues where there are shootings but as long as children understand that this is not something that happens in every day life it gives a good sense of action.

criss is right, read the whole series! I did!

the series is better than this book itself. Snakehead is the best one.

    Read the whole series!

I reeeeeeeeeeaaaaalllly love the Alex Rider Adventures. The books are all really fun to read, and when there is shooting or something, it is not bad because nobody under like 8 should mind. It is spying and action and adventure and even a little comedy sometimes, so I would recommend reading Stormbreaker and then the rest of the series!

    SPY NOVEL IS A MUST-READ

This book got me hooked on spies. The books have very few swear words, no sex (mild attraction to a girl), and quite some violence, though not graphic. Seven books in the series so far, and I highly recommend them to ages 11+.

[grade B-] attractive novel us only one in series that doesn't suck

I like this novel. It is attractive and exciting. Boys will really like this for it's violence and fast paced plots. Relatively stupid, this book has great blocking, and one of the better action books. It actually has some character development. A brilliant thriller

    Read all books in series

Move over James Bond, young and handsome spy Alex Rider is here. A bit much for younger kids to comprehend, but other than that is really good. Mild language , but nothing lovie-dovie about it!

    WOW

This book is incredible and I recommend it. It is somewhat violent and when reading it at a young age I was surpirsed at the plot and how it is based around murder. However I recommend this book for kids 10 and up. Just watch out for the violence.

    AWESOME!

I loved this book, and the rest of the series! They are all really well-written! Just be forewarned that there's a lot of violence, scary parts for a lot of kids (the main character almost dies multiple times). Aside from that, I would recommend this book to anyone, it's a perfect James Bond-esque series!
