Friends can be found anywhere if one only looks for them. By reading this conversation between two young boys who have just met, one can witness a friendship in the making. Chris Raschka's illustrations portray the emotion behind each word.

This is the kind of story that gives even an adult reader a good chuckle. Subsequent readings are even more fun when the punctuation and the plot -- and the expressive illustrations -- guide the tone of the reader's voice. Readers of all ages will enjoy the lively verbal and visual language. And the low word count makes this book a great confidence booster for beginning readers.

The two boys come alive through Chris Raschka's art, as facial expressions and body language add new levels of meaning to each word, convincing readers that they are eavesdropping on a playground conversation. Even the picture's colors and shadows add depth to the story. The colors are continually changing, matching the plot's nuances.
