a twist can ruin a book
ok i officialy loved this book... till the turn at the end of the book... (dont read any further if you havnt fully read it)... this book seemed like the perfect book... im pretty good at telling what is going to happen next in a book and by about the middle of the book i knew that either jace or clary were going to be valintines children... i even had the idea that they both would be valintines children, but i would always push it to the back of my head because i though the author would be crazy to make them related.... aparently she is.... ill give her props for making the book take a different direction... i mean after all every book now a days has the girl and guy fall in love... but for once i think it wuld be better that way. sometimes you shouldnt mess up the classics. this book would be a perfect 5 if it wasnt for them becoming brother and sister at the end

Amazing!
This is an amazing book that I absolutely loved. The action is suspenseful, the characters full of personality and excellent role models, and the message of staying true to yourself is clear throughout the entire book. *SPOILER* I was extremely disappointed when we found out that Jace and Clary were siblings, because it was so obvious how much they loved each other. I'm really, really hoping for Magnus and Alec- they're awesome!

Definitely iffy for teens and definitely NOT for tweens.
This series, as a whole, is too sexual to be appropriate for kids 12+. There are multiple scenes implying sex, especially later in the series. A girl is described as having her shirt unbuttoned displaying her bra while kissing a boy.

Beyond my Expectations
Considering this book sloshes together witches, warlocks, werewolves, vampires, and even demons, I was a little scared of how it would turn out. I was suprised. This book was really entertaining. It has some good twists, although you can probably compare some parts to other books and movies. Besides that, It's a great book. I absoulutely fell in love with Jace. But hey, is there many teen books where you don't fall in love with a character? I can't wait to read City of Ashes!! I only said 12 years old because i want kids to actually understand ans soak up all the great stuff theyre reading!

Angels and Demons– done differently.
One of my top five favorite book series (up there with Harry Potter and the Hunger Games). While it may seem like a guilty pleasure novel at first, this story does have some intriguing allusions to angels and almost Islamic beliefs about them. It has positive messages about friendship and overcoming prejudice (One character is gay, another is a rather scary-looking warlock that's good at heart). Violence is prominent (hey, they're demon slayers) but is never overdone. Sexual references are present, but as I said, they're only references. Sex does not actually occur.

One of the Best Books I've Ever Read
I thought the book was amazing! People are complaining about the coke and herbal ecstasy parts but they weren't even bad! It was mention ONCE! And none of the main character were even doing that stuff! And they sweared what?, twice in a book that's about 480 pages long! That's really good compared to most books! And about Jace and Clary being brother and sister, I'm pretty sure in the books to come it will be revealed that they really aren't. For two reasons: 1. Being that Jace doesn't look anything like Valentine OR Clary's mom, Jocelyn. Shouldn't he have at least one of their traits if he's their son?, but no he doesn't. 2. And I peeked in one of my friend's copie of a book later in the trilogy and Clary picked Jace over Simon, and since Simon is in love with her, I'm guessing that she was picking who she loved. Well anyways, I'll find out soon!

Really really good!
I thought this book and series are amazing. It is funny, interesting, and gripping. And really, why is it a big deal that there's minor swearing and gay characters? There's nothing wrong with that, is there? No. The adults who say that it is 17 and up must be way too protective as parents. I scoff at you.

Meh...
I read half of chapter one and couldn't bring myself to finish the chapter. In the little that I read, a 15-year old girl and her friend went to an all ages club with drugs, drinking, herbal ecstasy, and make out sessions in the back. Pretty vulgar stuff for the first few pages of a book. I tried my hardest to finish the chapter, but the book didn't interest me at all. I'd find something a little less risqué to read than this.

An amazing book worth reading.
I began reading this book after it was suggested by a good friend of mine. At first, I was a little unsure of whether or not to read this book, because I didn't know if I would care for it, being that I did not like the Twilight saga. So, I started to read it anyways, and I was totally in love right from the beginning. The book begins with a girl named Clarissa Fray, who one night, witnesses three teenagers kill a boy. She is appalled from the sight. But she soon realizes, that maybe what she thinks she saw, isn't what it was at all. Clarissa, who goes by Clary, soon finds herself in a heap of trouble and confusion, packed full of vampires, werewolves, and shadow-hunters. This book was terrific. I, being thirteen when I read this, could relate to the teenage characters and understand their decisions. I loved the comedy, which actually made me laugh out loud, the romance, and the action. This book literally had me on the edge of my seat. I would, however, say it is a little iffy for kids under eleven or twelve, but it is absolutely fine for teens and tweens. It has some swearing and some sexual content, but I assure you that it is nothing to drastic. This book does have a gay character, but I don't understand why any parent would be concerned with this; aren't we trying to promote diversity? Anyways this book is a great read and it is one of my favorite series, definitely one worth watching for.

Every story is true
This book is a really good start of the series, and talks much about Clary's emotions. It's plot is interesting, and so are the characters and the idea itself.

Role Modles
There are many good role models in this book there's Clary and she is a role model because she is fighting demons and also facing hard time's in her life of not knowing how she really is.

YESYES
LOVEOLOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE :D First off, Clary's actually really annoying. But she's still awesome. Just, annoying, and i love how she's bossy but still compassionate. And Jace's an egotistical jerk at first, but then he actually shows he cares when he matters. Simon's the best friend ever, Isabella shows just how strong and vulnerable women can be, and Alec shows out new society - okay, so what if he's gay? He's still loyal and great.

You HAVE to read this. it is AMAZING!!!
This is my favorite book by far. im turning 13 soon. i think this book is for kids 12 and up. 12 only of they are mature. lots of kissing, and the fact that a brother and sister are in love. you dont want that kind of influence on kids. BUT ITS SO AMAZING! this book pulls you in and you never want to let go. also with the hunger games and hush, hush. best books ever.

I can't believe I read this
I first read this book when I was around 12 or 13. I was totally in love with this book—I read the entire trilogy under half a week. I was obsessed. But this is in the past, and in the few months between City of Glass and City of Fallen Angels, I learned more about the literary world and what makes or breaks a good story. And, looking back at this now, I realize that this story is a piece of shiiiiii--take mushrooms. There is absolutely no plot. Cassandra Clare probably got lost somewhere half-way through the book and just decided to throw in whatever she could to make it interesting. Like how (spoiler alert!) Alec is gay, and then Magnus is, too? I wouldn’t have guessed. And the way Clary realized that Magnus is gay—just by raising one eyebrow? That’s so stereotypical. And the vampirism? And the werewolves? And warlocks and witches? She was just riding on the popularity of Harry Potter and Twilight. Not to mention the “cliché property” of this book. Fainting into potential suitor’s arms? Check. Unrequited, forbidden love? Check. Two good-looking guys in love with her? Check. She’s put in a situation where the only place safe for her to live in is with the bad boy/ love interest of the story? Check. Something of her birth or parentage gives her special powers? Check, check, and check. I could go on forever, but I’d rather not remember the horribleness of it all. Finally, is it or is it not appropriate for young audiences? No. It should be for kids 15+. It’s much too adult.
