There is to much kissing in this. it gets a bit boring there is some unnessicary talking in it. I don't think kids 11+. I am elleven and was 10 when i read it. i greatly enjoyed it but got quite board at times.

Action good--romance getting old--not the best for teens
I give it a very good--because I enjoyed the action--but the romance is tiresome at this point. I do think there is a redeeming point in Edward wanting to be old fashioned and virtuous until marriage. But the way Bella goes after him and is so negative on marriage is NOT a good message for teens. But I can see how a teen would like it. I'm not sure I'd let my daughter read it at even 14 (she's 6 now). .

Anti-Marriage, still G-rated
It's incredible that Meyers could want us to believe Bella is so willing to sacrifice everything, that she is so MATURE, and yet marriage is so terrible. That didn't make character sense, and it only feeds immature versions of 'love'. This series is full of immature versions of love, however; the continued inability to distinguish between love and lust; the anti-marriage themes of books 2 and 3; the bizarre love/suicide connections. That's what parents need to know. Talk to your kids about YOUR versions of true love and infatuation, what you want them to know about sacrifice (including suicide).

Worst of the four, but still fun
What parents need to know is this book is heavy on themes of sacrifice and "love". This is a problem because Meyer never, in all 4 books, distinguishes between love and infatuation and, in fact, would have us believe until the very last book that there is no difference. Her "true love" is never, ever shown to have anything in common with her. They do not share any of the same hobbies or interests. It is only about the excitement of breathing on each other, while in contrast she does have another relationship which we see actually makes her a better person, and allows her to share with someone else. The Romeo and Juliet comparison Meyer's draws doesn't work, and that's a problem too. Romeo and Juliet contained a suicide tragedy which stemmed from a totally different set of societal expectations, feuds, and so much more. It doesn't belong here, and it may give immature readers the wrong impression of sacrifice, and when it may be appropriate. I don't fault her character, Bella, for wanting to protect those for whom she cares. Harry Potter did that a lot, and nobody seemed to fault him for taking risks to save his friends, but Bella speaks also of death in disturbing ways. I would want to talk to my kids about that, as well as my adult perspective on "true love" and infatuation.

sexiest one so far
My 11 year old was allowed to read these as long as we discussed the books and the nature of the relationship as obsessive and irresponsible. However, this book, more than the others, has sexual content. Although I like the message that they are waiting for marriage, my daughter and I had to have "the talk" before I would let her read this one.

This book was another great read
I like this book a lot better than the second book New moon but the second book was no pushover but I loved this book I like Edward and his higher of self control and he will do any thing to help her out to save her life Jacob I fell sorry for him he is a good kid at heart but he don’t know what he want I hope he will find the girl of his dreams soon at the end it was a little graphic about a little mulling and what not but still a great read YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Book
I was again very mad at the Common Sense review. This book isn't only about a girl who loves hunky vampire's. Bella, would rather Edward not be rich or beautiful and she loves him. And this isn't only about that either. here's the plot. Dr. Carlisle Cullen and his family Edward,Alice,Rosalie,Esme,Emmat and Japer are all vampires. And Edward is in love with a human named Bella Swan. Victoria a wild vampire has gathered an army to kill Bella to avenge her love, James's death (who Edward kills to save Bella in book one.) mean while Jacob a werewolf is also in love with Bella forcing her to chose between them. Victoria and her army begin to murder inocent people in Seattle. The cullens have to save them and Bella before it's too late. Some parts in this story are inappropriate but thats only about three pages and I just had my daughter skip it.

THE BEST OF THE 3
This was definatly my favorite of the 3 twilight series. It was a little more intense than the first 2. I would be ok with my kids reading it, but you need to know your kids & how they could react to it.

not a fan
I don't think this book was as good as everyone thinks it is. The main character has no mind of her own which is not a good thing in a relationship. I did like how Edward did think about her more in this book than he had in others. I also didn't like how Belle would try to talk or trick Edward into going farther than he wanted to. I also don't like how Belle was more worried about Edward than about a future. I think this gives teenage girls the wrong idea of what love and a good relationship is.

An iffy model of romance.
Bella is much to attatched to Edward. She is clingy, and he is overprotective. This romance is unrealistic, and would never survive in the real world. Bella disregards the advice of her father, and abandons her friends for Edward. She plans no future for herself, does not plan to attend college, and thinks exclusively of her future with Edward. Much of the story centers around vampires and werewolves battling over territory and Bella as well. It is as if she is an object rather than a person! The plot line is so much the same as the first two books that it becomes redundant. It is not without merit though. Despite being repetitive, the whole thing is a cute, fluffy, read. It's fine for a rainy afternoon, I just wouldn't recommend wasting any other time on it.
- I rate this title on for age 13 and give it
Better Than Book 2
For those who loved Twilight and then made it though New Moon a bit disappointed, not to worry. Edward is back in the book the whole time. Some complain that Bella is helpless. Doesn't bother me. Heck, in most vampire books the woman is helpless anyway. I did like Edward's strong morals and him sticking to his beliefs about what Bella should do. If you haven't read Twilight and New Moon, you really have to go back and read those for this book to make any sense.

Lovey-dovey Twilight
The only problem here for me, is that Bella and Edward are WAY too obsessed with each other. They can't stay away from each other for more than a day, which I think it pretty pathetic. They say they love each other, but I think it's more of an infatuation sort of thing (like in Titanic; between Jack and Rose), and if we kids/teens get the image of love as the "love" portrayed in Twilight, they may have the wrong idea.

My opinion on all 4 books
I soo love all the Twilight books but there are things that bother me. Not that It isn't the best ever! It's just that people started hateing Edward in the second and they need to realise that Edward thought that he was saving Bella and that he would take the problems with him. He even went hunting for Victoria to make sure Bella was safe. Then Jacob was really mean to Bella because she made it sooo clear she wanted Edward. She HIT him when he kissed her, doesn't that say she wants Edward and that was sooo not cool? The deal she made with Edward was great, They both got what they wanted and they would stick to it. Love Eclipse, it is the best book if you want action. Even the guys could get into it. There was only a few flaws in ALL 4 books so the story is obviously the best ever. Love Twilight and go TEAM EDWARD!!!!! Love you Stephenie Meyer! Thanks for the best books ever!

1. wouldnt you be a little annoyed if most of your friends didnt talk to you anymore because the love of your life left you and you were upset? 2. Bella is 18, i would be quite suprised if most 18 year old werent thinking about that 3. there are quite a lot of things for Bella to be angry about in the book 4. I dont know how you mean it, but graduation is a big part of the story for Bella, when she is going to be turned into an immortal and all that. 5. sex is not a swear word Excellent Book Defo Recommend it for peeps 12 + over

Eclipse - Review
I think that Eclipse is the best book of the Saga. This is because it is where everything is decided and when you know who Bella has chosen. She has made her deal with Edward and is going to be turned into an immortal as soon as she is married and he has 'fulfilled' his first part of the 'bargain'. Bella also finds out that she is in love with werewolf Jacob Black (even though it was quite easy for us to figure out, just not for her), but she has been too obsessed with her first love vampire Edward Cullen to notice. At the end of the book Bella and Edward have decided that they are going to get married and there is just one more 'very unpleasant and possibly even highly dangerous' thing to do. Tell her father. The last sentence of the book is "where it would stay - conceivably for the rest of eternity" - she is talking about the engagement ring that Edward had given her. I think that this was the perfect way to end the book because we think that we have a pretty good idea of what will happen in the fourth and final book of the saga.

It's an awesome book, I really like it. It's my favorite. Some parents may think it's too much, but really, it's not. Breaking Dawn, at least 13. But 12 is okay for Eclipse. On another note, I'm a little irritated that I'm still a "Kid Reviewer" at age 12.

Bad role models throughout series
Bella is a helpless damsel in distress, and her life completely revolves around her love, from whom she can't stand to be separated, and for whom she will make any sacrifice, including her family and life. In Book 2 Edward attempted suicide when he thought Bella was dead. In this one Jacob threatens it if Bella chooses Edward. Overall Bella doesn't have healthy relationships, yet they're not portrayed as unhealthy -- just romantic. After New Moon, this was the worst in the Saga.I give it a very good--because I enjoyed the action--but the romance is tiresome at this point. I do think there is a redeeming point in Edward wanting to be old fashioned and virtuous until marriage. But the way Bella goes after him and is so negative on marriage is NOT a good message for teens. But I can see how a teen would like it.

The book kept me reading. I could not put it down. I did discuss with my Mom her view that the book is "anti-feminist." The girls in the book wait for the boys to save them and none of them have proper jobs or educations.

My Fav!
This is my favorite book of the entire series! It does have parts that can be iffy for some people, but as I say in a lot of my reviews, it depends on how mature you are. I don't think anyone under the age of 10 should read the series.

Good for children 12 and up [amazing book]
I positively love this book. Its my personal favorite out of the series. I feel that if you are mature then you can handle this book. There is an almost sex scene (Chapter 20) but t doesn't go farther than kissing. There is one violent scene but it is between vampires which mean there is no blood, which can always make violent action scenes much more gruesome in my opinion. I think most children can read this. Its an amazing book and definitely worth your time and your children's.
