Do your research you retards.
This is clearly filler, every series has one. What you forgot to note was the fact that at the time this book was being written, Mr.Patterson was writing another book, that he was putting most of his time into.

I've said it once, I'll say it again, THIS SERIES ROCKS!!! Not my favorite book in the series (mainly because of a certain Dr. Stupdenous), but still amazing!

just stop at the first three.
Hmmm... The series started of GREAT, but then it sort of went to seed from this book... I mean, what the heck?! Lets stop globle warming with our super awsome muntant powers! Yes, I said muntant. A cross between mutant and munted. It seems awsome when you read it, but you look back, and its really shallow. I love the series though. Yes I do.

Not Great
James Patterson has a good idea in mind, but actually pulling it off is a completely different story. At first what appears to be creative, albeit mindless fiction soon becomes silly, far-fetched and plot-less. Around this time in the series, all the protagonists are doing is fighting, being captured, escaping, and fighting again. Sounds fine the first five or six times around, but soon becomes redundant and monotonous. I have read the entire series, and the books also start to become suffocatingly preachy about saving the environment.

The weakest link in the series
The Maximum Ride series has gotten slowly "not-as-good" with each book, but the fourth one draws the line for me. I loved the first and really enjoyed the second and accepted the third, but the fourth just doesn't have the heart that the first one did. I just couldn't force myself to "like" any of the adult characters and even the flock seemed unnaturally dull. Going from saving human lives and fighting societal ethics to saving the trees just doesn't work cannonically.

ugh. worst max ride book yet.
i for one am a huge fan of all things max ride-except for this book. it was truly the wortst one of the series. the characters and plot werent written with as much pizzazz as i was used to from james patterson. it almost felt as if he was off when writing this-maybe he didnt drink his morning coffee. or maybe something more sinister, like someone pretended to be him so they could publish a lame book about global warming, disguised as a fiction young adult novel. the whole book seems like a ridiculous political stunt to raise awareness about global warming, which is pretty what the entire books plot centers around. i for one, take maxs stand point from the begnning of the book-global warming? yeah, right. pshaw. pollution? bad. global warming? hippie propaganda. and i know what im talking about, because i spent several hours researching the topic for a biology project.

Not very good. :-(
This book was DEFINATELY not as good as the first 3. When I started it, i thought it was gonna be as good as the first three, I kept reading and reading, and when i got 2 the end, i was like THAT WAS IT. it had no surprises, and no action. Its not innapropriate or anything, but your kids are gonna be bored out of thier mind with this book. :-(

Look past the opinion
When looking at a book we need to first realize that the auther may have a diferent opinion then us, and look past that diference ( though in some cases it is just better not to read the book example religous beliefs) The story line was good and the main characters goals where good. even if you don't believe in global warming you can look at the heart of the bird kids, it makes a good example. When reading this book remeber that this is only a small part of the story. The auther may say things that don't matter in this book, but they have importants in the other books. This book was well written and is a good example of a type of lit. I would suggest this book to children 10 ( could be a hard read for younger kids)and up, as well as fantasy buffs. In this book the flock ends up in antartica learning about gobal warming when they are captured and a mad man tries to make a profet off them. This is where total and aceala's relationship begins. A good example of over coming diferences to for relationships. A good book with some very good examples!

Rant on how awesome this book is!
Wait wait wait wait. That review is wrong! See, here I am, a kid, and I love love love the Maximum Ride series. Not wanting more? Ok, look. Don't listen to the adults who wrote the review. I mean, it's a CHILDREN'S BOOK. FOR CHILDREN. Not educational adults who think the plot is bland. And uninspired? PSH. I think, being a TOTAL eco freak, that's it is super inspired. While I must admit, it isn't the most awesome, spectacular book in the series, its WAAY up there in the sha-maaazing range. It's an exciting, heart pounding comedy that you won't want to put down. Trust me; 'cause even though I'm only eleven, I know my books.

Team Fang!!
I don't care that this book wasn't very good, I still loved it! (if that makes any sense :P) yes it's a filler but it still features some of the best characters in young adult fiction. And I found it very educational, believe it or not! I love this series.
