This book is amazing. It will leave you crying. It will make you smile. It will make you laugh. This is the best book i have ever read. It is about a boy named Max and he is 5'10" and he meets this boy named Kevin (Freak). They become best friends and can't get away from each other. People make fun of them but they move on. Then it's Kevin's birthday party. And a fatal accident occurs. You have to read it to get more details. This book made my day and will teach you lessons. It taught me lessons. To not make fun of people because they might come back in a worse way. If you are having problems in life, read this book. It will make you feel either better or worse about yourself.
Killer Kane, Killer Kane. Had a kid who didn't know he had such a good brain (:
I just finished reading this book in my l.a class. We also watched the movie. I like the book better though because of the added detail. LOVE IT!!!!! (p.s im only 12 so WAT NOW!!!!!)
Freak the mighty rating for others to know about this book is great!
I am 13 i read this book last year for middle school battle of the books. Honestly this book was REALLY REALLY sad!! Although out of all the 27 books that we had to read this book was my absolute favorite. The saddest part was someone died of a disease. Just incase you deside to read it I wont put a whole lot of what its about..
This book is really good in school im watching the movie freak is just so cute the way he so smart and stuff the end has to one of the most saddest parts in the book i was going to cry after i read this THIS WAS BASED ON A TRUE STORY
It is a good book for kids from 6th to 7th grade. At the end it is almost a little disappointing and sad. After you read this, you wonder, what happens in the next book. Also, I disliked the movie, so read the book first.
This book is a really touching book about 2 special boys. For all of you people saying it's too violent for little kids. Why are you reading it to little kids?? Of course, it's too violent for 5 yr olds! Anyway if you are complaining it's too violent for 9 yr olds, then why do all the teachers read it to the kids?

Just don't read it.For your own sake...
Consider the fact that one of the characters says that he is
sorry for saying hell or something.
This book is just written for the sake of - I don't know - Educating 12 year olds to not say hell when they hear #*#*#* #*#* *#***** **** ** ***** ***** 500 times a day.
I do not know why people are saying about the violence in the book. The violence is fine. You have to be mature and know that thinks like that happen in life. In general, it is an amazing book. People whould know this book isn't aimed to third graders. Once you hit middle school, you should be mature enough to read this by now, like me. I am 11 years old, and my whole school loves this book. It's approved by all of the teachers. We as a class love our book club time too. It has lots of different layers that makes a good book club dicsussion. If you find the book offensive, don't read it :)
I could never find a book I liked. I hated reading I thought it was pointless...until I read Freak the Mighty. Freak the Mighty is the BEST book I truly have read in my entire life. You may be saying, huh, maybe I should check this book out, and I am saying, yeah, you should. I am in the seventh grade and this is a phenomenal book. Rodman Philbrick, you have out outdone yourself this time, like always. Getting this kid to read. ;-)
I just read this book for the SECOND TIME. It was so good that I didn't mind doing a report on it again. I does have a bit of violence that some kids might not be able to handle, but only for short bits. It has plenty of good values like friendship. This book will excite you, make you laugh, anger you a little, and finally tear your heart out. It is a sad story but very good as well!
This book provides very good influence on chidren 10 AND UP! Im not saying get your 8 year old to read it! All you people making it sound so bad just read the book over after you read this. And think about what im saying while you are reading it! It is a very great story. P.S. This is coming from a 13 year old boy doing a report on it!
