Must read for teenagers but not for younger children.
I read the book and i thought it was a good and a real life story that people can relate too. It does describe bad events through out the story but it shows how a young teenage mother tries to do better for not only herself but her son too. She does struggle and lets the bad stuff get the best of her but at the beginning she seemed well commited with trying to do better. It may sound easy to get better after being addicted to a drug but its harder and more complicated then what it seems. We had to understand that in this certain situtation... but it is a very good book!

I love this book, It really made me understand more about drugs and what it does. When my kid becomes a teenager i don't want him to being doing drugs. So i think this book really helps you understand about drugs and what will help you understand about it. I think its a great book for teenagers to read so they know what will happen in your life, If you start to do drugs, Because i don't think us parents will want to tell our kids if we ever did drugs. When i was a teenager i would loved to read this book to help me understand the real thing about drugs so I never did them. It was a horrible life when i got into drugs I'm just happy that I'm 17 and got out of doing drugs and that my baby is having a great life with his mommy.

I have to say i absolutely adore this book, and it teaches a good moral story to help others realize what they can get into but other than that its not good for kinds under the age of 16.

Excellent way to open up a dialogue on drugs
This is a really good book. It doesn't whitewash anything and you can see this really happening to a family. I think that my daughter is too young for this right now, but I would like her to read it when she is a bit older and discuss Kristina and her choices with her.

Perfect for older teenagers, not 12, 13 or 14 year olds....
Although it gives many bad message it is a great book! Many kids can relate to it (not in the ways your thinking) and teaches us many important leason about life...I would recommend this book to anyone 15+, I read it at 12 and I didn't get any of it...really confusing for the young mind.

Amazing Author
Love the book. Ellen Hopkins is an amazing author all her books leave you feeling emotional and as if you know the characters, It's sad what Kristina went through in the books, but it is what drug users really face. Ellen has seen this up close and personal due to her own child being an abuser; therefore she can show us how it actually effects people.

Young Adults Learn What They Live, Not What They Read
I was a virgin to my husband when i married and he is the father of all of my children, i have never been addicted to any plant based man=made substance derived from the red poppy, white lotus or blue agave i think it is relevant to remember a little history, british warhships forced china (after attacking the port of canton with cannonfire for weeks and blockcading the city so it could not serve as the center of foreign trade for an empire heavily dependent on trade from many nations, starving and terrifying the native populace) to import opium grown in asia for the british, they also terrorized the amish into growing hemp for them (like cotton but does not mildew in cold wet weather) used for rope, sailcloth, hammocks, warm underclothes, soft swaddling for newborns, sheets for bedding and more! the british also terrorized surviving native americans into growing corn (moonshine) and tobacco for them, the are "the borg" "you will be assimilated~resistance is futile" there was violence and opium addiction in this world long before we were born and it will be so long after, this book may just give a young adult who is curious about opium the courage to "just say no", i think the example she sees in her own home far outweighs anything she will read/see/hear/experience in books, movies, conversations with friends or stars~ it all comes down to the mother, father, siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins~is there anyone in the immediate family with an addiction? anger, alcohol, opium, gambling, shopping, incest? that is far more likely a predictor of future addiction than anything she reads, sees, hears, books/tv, movies, its time to take responsibility, mom&dad, dont let her get exposed at home!! to addiction, dont worry about books, tv, movies, friends

I cried!
This book truly made me laugh, cry, and really think about life itself. It was better to read Crank first, but Glass alone is just an amazing story of a lost girl.. I find myself in similar positions as Kristina and Bre and it really is an eye-opener. A must read!

Don't Be So Quick To Shelter Your Children, Teach Them!
I am a parent of a 13 yo. As a teen I was caught up in the "party" scene. Many of my close friends used Meth to get through school, loose weight and then just because they were addicted. It is horrible to see the ones you love and care for chase after their next high but this is reality. By reading this book it shows the reality of doing Meth, it's not pretty and she doesn't glamorize drugs in any way. I see too many parents shelter their kids but let me tell you a lot of the "good" kids in high school were the biggest druggies. Read the book before you allow your child to and then keep an open door for them to talk about it, You Just Might Learn Something About Your Child!
