I read this book for a class assignment and realized it had great vocabulary but quite often it got confusing me and my friends were completely confused at times I thought it was way to grown up. There were a couple times where it got a little mature and was not in any way appropriately suited for anyone under 11 or 12. I strongly disagree with the author. It is okay because it is very descriptive.

You will want to read it again and again! You might want to read Julie of the Wolves first. I luv This Book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was a good book. i think it is good for middle schoolers who can relate to the character who, like so many of them, is searching for their identity.

When I was almost 9 I was in book club at a nearby library, they chose this book. My friends and I can all agree that this book is interesting, but the rape made it inappropriate for kids our age.

Julie of the Wolves is one of the best books I've ever read. It gives a lot of good suspense when Miyax is left alone by the wolf pack and she has to live on her own.

Although it was WAY too short, and the author seemed to have cut everything off in the end, I enjoyed the beautiful and colorful descriptions of the Arctic landscapes. I thought the ending was just disappointing, because the leader of the pack is killed, her other wolf friends are basically shunned away by her, and her little bird dies. AND I almost forgot to mention, her father she thought was dead is found, but is a total different person, and after her welcomes her into his home to stay with him forever, she runs away from him. Horrible ending I'd say. Nothing special done to the ending.

I read this book when I was in sixth grade (2010) and I, along with the rest of my class, thought this was the absolute worst book any of us have ever read. I will remember this book for all time as the single most boring and stupid book I have ever read. To start, our class rated the book 1-10 (1 being terrible and 10 being amazing) and out of a possible 200 (there being 20 students in the class) it received a 17. Many people burned this retched novel after completing the final test. As for me, I shredded it. This book makes absolutely no since, has no plot, and nothing to keep you interested in it. The main character (myax) has an arranged marriage by some aunt of hers after her father leaves her and her husband rapes her telling her his friends were laughing at him because he couldn't "mate with his wife". She then runs away and finds wolves and acts like wolves- barking and kneeling on all fours, and they trust her and feed her and trust her with their cubs (like that would happen). She spends most of the book describing how bitterly cold the arctic is and how white it is, along with what the puppy Jello did. The resolution to the book is her wolf friends are killed and she roams the arctic alone. DO NOT READ THIS BOOK!!!! And if anybody would like a free, used copy of this terrible book just comment on this about wanting the book and I can arrange for that. I will even pay for the shipping because I NEVER want to see that book again. I may have shredded (and then burned the shreds) mine but my sister also has a copy when she was in sixth grade.

I've read the whole series.It's delightful and awesome.I love wolves and this series :D
