Great for tweens and up!
This whole series is a great introduction to the whole world of Greek mythology. The main character, Percy Jackson, is a good role model, always striving to do the right thing and live up to what it is supposed to mean to be a 'hero". There are positive messages concerning friendship and family, and for parents, a warning to show their children they love them especially during the difficult teen years when you might suppose a child doesn't want to hear that sort of thing.

There is a lot of violence in this book ( a lot more then the pervious ones, it is also described more). There is no language, but there are a few kisses.

Best in the series!!!!
It`s the best in the series!!!! It took my two friends and I only two days to finish it!!!! It`s a great book for anyone at least 10 and up and for people that are into greek mythology. For anyone else who reads this there`s a rumor going around that I found on one of the book and/or movie sites for this book that the author said that the story of Percy is done but he might write some more books on what happens to the other characters!!!! There is also way more violence than the other books.(swords, arrows, knifes, a drakon, statues/automatons, explosions, poison, fire, etc.)

best in the series- though how much that says...
this book was definitely the best in the series, but then, i didn't really like the series much. it was definitely enthralling, and very educational- my knowledge of the greek gods has gone way up, though i suspect my view of them will always be a little mangled. i just had two problems with it: 1. i read the first book about a month ago and i just finished the last one. reading them so close together, i've noticed that percy's voice has barely changed at all throughout the series. he still talks like a twelve-year old by the time he's turned sixteen. his voice is very flippant, but i find the humor often falls flat, and it really irritated me. luckily, the actual storyline was good enough to keep me going all the way through. 2. the little we've seen of nico portrayed him a far more interesting character than percy- or most of the other characters, actually. all of them are interesting, but most of them are kind of flat. i can pretty much list the people who seemed to have undergone major transformation and/or are more than one-dimensional: nico (as mentioned), dionysus (sort of, though the good-guy-under-the-jerk bit wears off after a while), grover (definitely) and hades. the entire climax- the death of kronos- came about through the fact that annabeth has not changed at all from the beginning of the series to the end. that may have been the point, but it struck me as kind of silly. aside from that, however- thumbs up.

Keeps you at the edge of your seat!
Reading this was so awesome! My mom tried to get me to do something and I was so into the book I was all like "NO!! THIS IS SOOO GOOD!" Of course I didn't say it meanly... But there is THE tiniest bit of romance but it is miniscule. Over all, a wonderful read.

The Last Olympian
Rick Riordan did a fantastic job in the last book in 'Percy Jackson and the Olymians' series. His book are great for kids who are anywhere from 10 to 16. I loved it, but it is neccasary to read the first books in the series before reading this one. Overall, very good and well-written.
