Great Book For Mature Kids
This book was really great for me to read; I swallowed it down in one day. There is some stuff, but if a 11 year old wants to read it, it's okay. It really all depends on how much the kid knows and how mature they are. If you ignore that stuff, you will really enjoy the book!

It really depends on how mature you are and what you can handle
Im 11 and i have read almost everyone but really i dont think i should be reading this but im VERY mature for my age and i wont and dont go around showing off the bad words and the kissing stuff to my friends like some kids do but i think the age level should be 15+ but it really depends on what your parents say if my mom knew what was in it she prob. whouldn't let me read it. But it really depends

Its good... skipping some parts
It was a good book. Not one of my favorites, but I liked it. It takes a fresh look at the vampyre world, which was nice, considering all society is aware of them. I was looking for Count Chocula the other day in the super market haha... There's the regular use of h*** and h*o. And the one thing that really bothered me was that they worship this "goddess" and it really bugs cause Zoey has to stop every dang 3 pages to "pray to the goddess". Oh, and the "people of faith" stuff. So I skip those parts.

I wouldn't suggest it to anyone
I read. . .maybe two chapters of this book, and already I'd read sexual references, some violence, and several cuss words thrown around. Any young girl who respects herself enough to read even somewhat clean literature should not read this book. I also found it confusing, unrealistic, and poorly written.

They might hear the same stuff from kids at school
i just want to say that, i think this book is for kids in middle school and up. i say this because, im a ninth grader, and i started hearing stuff mentioned in this book in 6th grade. so i just wanted to point out whether they read the book or not, they most likely will start hearing the terms anyway, and perhaps even start using them around their friends. but truely its the parents decison.

All around great book!
It is a little adult sometimes, but it sends a very positive message to kids. About her step-fathers religious outlooks it shows that there is many more oppertunities and that you should be a little more open minded it does not treat religion like a bad thing more of a thing to be taken in a little more subtle.

OK for twelve year olds.
I read this book two years ago, when I was twelve. I didn't really think that the scenes other people described as 'gross' and 'too mature' for young adults was too much. I think that it was necessary for the book and that if you can't handle it, then maybe you should just come back to the book in a few months. I read this book in two days, I am an avid reader, and it is ok for the tween at age 12 that is mature to read this series. I don't necessarily agree that it is ok for younger people to read or agree with what they do in the book. I would recomend this to anybody who has read any vampire book or other book that does enjoy reading. This book does have good and bad role models though. So if you don't like liars, don't read the book.

Perfect for 12+
I love this book. I read it when I was 12. The language in this book isn't anything I haven't heard before. And a lot of kids start dating at 8 (My sister at 6) and my friend had her first kiss at 12.

This book is the beginning of the House of Night series. I liked this book pretty good. It has a normal happy ending but there will be a couple twists. Some sexual situations are here. Blow jobs, Hickies, and heavy kissing. Zoey also has a negative opinion of drugs and alcohol. Over all:: Good Book.

What I Think
I Think that it's okay for kids from middle school&older to read because either way people are already hearing stuff about that so it really wouldn't be a really bad book. It has alot of things that kids shouldnt hear about like drugs, sex, and well violence but i startedhearing about all that when i was in middle school.

Love it, Sibling shouldn't
I have read it and it was great, but my little sister stole and read it (9) and I would NEVER EVER let someone that age read it... she claims all the fourth graders swear on the bus so she knows all the words anyways... Now she wants to read the next one I got (Betrayed) UGH! (lol) I am only 13, but I WIL NOT ever go around drinking, or using drugs, or etc. You have to look at the maturity level of your child too, when letting them read books.

It depends on mental maturity
Ok, so I LOVE this book but I think an average person shouldn't read this till about 15, even thought im 13. When I was reading it I even thought "Im not sure I should read this" or "I don't think my parents would let me read this" but it would pass and the story is so good! Im 13, but I have read books that 15 year old aren't allowed to read. It really depends on how mentally mature the kid is, but they should be ready by 14, exept for some exeptions like myself. I read books like this when I was like 10, but its not like my parents read over my shoulder or anything...

AMAZING BOOK
I love this book series. I dont recommend it for immature kids but it is an insight to what they will see and experience in highschool. I laughed at all the books because they are funny! I am not an immature kid in school that skips classes, curses all the time, makes bad grades, or drinks. These books are AMAZING dont criticize the author or how she writes. If you don't like it, get over it.

H.O.N review
there are some parts of the book that may not be good for kids younger than 13 but the book is really good. Me and my friend can talk hours on end about this book and series. I would recommend this book to read and it is nothing like twilight. I can relate to this more than twilight.

Good for teens, not tweens
Ok so i'm 15 and the house of night books are one of the best series i've read, and i read a lot. I was almost 15 when i started the series and it was fine, yes there is cussing but, hate to break it to you parents your kids probably hear worse at school. definitely recomend this book. ir your not 13 i don't think it's the best book for you.

Good book
I think the worst 'sexual' thing that happened in this book was a girl giving a guy head, but it barely goes into detail about it- almost none at all, plus it is kind of relevant to the story. Worst swear word is probably the f word, but I don't know any person over 10 who hasn't heard that word so...
