I really liked this. 'Notes from the Dog' is educational as it provides awareness of cancer. I believe this is good for kids 10+ because at the end it is unclear whether a certain character has died, and throughout the book there are references to cancer and cancer victims. The main character doesn't talk to anyone (or at least he PLANS not to) for awhile, but ends up talking to a whole bunch of people.
