Although I enjoyed reading Scat, I liked Hoot better. I haven't read Flush yet but out of Scat and Hoot, Hoot is the better read. Still I great book though. You'll wonder throughout the whole book what is going on and where is Mrs.Starch!!?? And to had that little heart warming touch Carl adds in some things about how Nick's dad loses his arm.
Intense storyline and mystery will satisfy young adults!
Terrific book! This made my top 10 books so far. Violence is constant though. With a man getting shot and a woman getting shot too. Some violent threats and tense moments too. Language is mild but constant. With words such as, a-s, d-mn, and h-ll. There is also plenty of consumerism. With mentions of, CSI, America's Most Wanted, Prius, Mountain Dew and more. This book is best reserved for 12 and up.
A boy didn't bite off a teacher's pinky and eat it. That's....weird. He broke the teacher's pencil and then chewed it....But the book was amazing, and one of the first I've read by Carl Hiaasen.
Loved it if u tak duh tim3 out read duh book ull understand any1 cud 10 n uP teachers , n parents wud lik it bcause i did .....if u dn't read u want lik it try n3w things som3 times its good 4 u luv yall L0Lzs !!!!!!!
I personally like it. It is funny and suspensful, I think people will enjoy it, all ages! It always wants u to turn the page so u can see whats going on. Carl Hiaasen is an extremely great auther, and is very creative! He has also wrote two other books called Hoot and Flush. He gives you some clues about how all three books are realated. Everyone will enjoy it!
there are good role models becuse nick helps his father when he loses an arm i read the book a cople years ago im middle school hoot and flush are good 2 but a couple of bad words but fine in other way 5/5
Ok, I read this book about a month ago and I loved it.
When I was choosing a book to read I choosed the SCAT because even the cover looked mysterious and I thought I could read first few pages and if it was not good I could read other books. When I first started to read I couldn't stop reading!!! It talks a lot about endangered animals and I think it would help kids my age how important the animals are and we should protect them. There's a lot of mystery and that's the main reason I kept reading it, I wanted to solve the mystery and I think this book is very educational for kids and kids should try to read it^^
Should we worry about our kids reading this kind of book? Sinse there's a whole of violent in this book ( not like "The Hunger Games") and plenty of cursing, we should really make this read rate 11-13 & up.
