Inspiring piece of art.
The novel explores the hardships and segregation of the black community. The community is strengthened by their collective identity and this helps them to grow into an empowered society despite the challenges they face. Toni Morrison also highlights the incredible femininity of a black woman and the independence a woman is capable of. This novel is a worthwhile read.
