This book was great! I loved this book. One of my faves, if not my favorite book. I read this book in 3 days! I really like Laurie Halse Anderson's books cuz she gets what teens are feeling.
This book is amazingly well written and realistic. Even though it may seem a little harsh, the reality is that most teens have to cope with these emotions, and its nice to know that it can be evercome, even if it is fiction, its still inspiring.
this book was the best book i had ever read. it had some cursing in it , but it was a book that i acually like and other people should write more books like this one
Certainly a book that goes deeper than the skin, you must peel layer upon layer back to get the full meaning, which is what I love. You may think some of the content (drugs, sex) can overshadow the real meaning to this book, but if you read into the dark humor and put yourself into Tyler's shoes, you'll be sucked up in an emotional twister called Twisted.
I love this book it might be perverted but i love itttttt!!!!! i wish they had a second book, plzzzzz i begggg uuuuu make a second booooook!!!!!
Love Dee R.
Amazing book, absolutely! Sometimes, it left me at suspense, questioning, angry, sad, wanting to know more, and even sometimes I felt worried or like I was figuring out a puzzle. Laurie Halse Anderson did an interesting cover choice . . . but I did hear the word "twisted" a couple of times in there. In this book, it also shows the relationships that Tyler has with his family, friends, and peers.
This was a great and entertaining book. It was filled with hilarious dialogue and dramatic moments with a good message behind it all. This book also has character all teens can relate to in one way or another. All in all this book is great for teens.
I read this book for a reading workshop in my english class. I found it interesting as I could relate to the protagonist and the things he was going through (in a way), but it was also heart-warming to see how he deals with the conflicts and the results in the end. Books like these send out positive life messages that teenagers really need in their lives, while keeping the reader completely engaged throughout the novel.
Personally, this is one of my favorite books, it was a great book in general, but also gives a only slightly over exaggerated view of high school life. Although there are a few aspects of high school life that are a tad bit more extreme than real life for MOST people, the tale is fairly accurate. Mrs. Anderson is an amazing author, after all, she writes most of her work from personal experience - she's a high school guidance counselor.
Some people might think that this book is too mature for their children, but I think that just so long as the kid isn't sheltered or anything like that, and they aren't totally immature, they can handle it in their early teens - in fact, I personally think that that's when it'll have the most potent effect on them.
If you're not convinced, read it before handing it to them, it really varies with the family.
