Nope. Not a problem at all.
Yesterday during the NASCAR Camping World 300 on ESPN, at about 3:30 PM a Commercial Break took place. It wasn't long before I heard the all-too-familiar "Dah da da, dah da da ta da" Jingle. It seems the Networks and their Advertisers do not care who is watching their shows when these abomonations come on. I sent an E-Mail to ESPN and urge all of you to do the same. I am monitoring the Daytona 500 and if I see an age-inappropiate Ad I will give my two cents worth to both FOX and NASCAR. I strongly urge our leaders to pass laws regulating when these ads are shown on TV. In 1996 Congress passed a Law that gave parents control over what Programs they could let their Children watch (The "V-Chip" Law). Unfortunately this Law DOES NOT APPLY to Advertisers, which is why we see Commercials for Adult Products aired at all times of the day, including during Children's Programming! I would like to see this Law AMENDED so that it includes Advertisments as well as Programming. That way if an Adult Ad is shown during the Afternoon, and a Viewers set is set for say "TV PG" during that Ad all a viewer would see and hear is silence and "The Blue Screen of Death".
Yes, I find all sports commercials obnoxious. We watch alot of MLB in our home and Viagra commericals play constantly. One day my 7-year-old son sang "Viva Viagra" which is a spin off of Elvis' Viva Las Vegas! I was appalled.
I don't have children, but the the GoDaddy ad with Danica Patrick certainly sparked discussion at my Superbowl party. When the ad finished, a few guys asked with unbridled curiosity: WHAT is GoDaddy? Though I admit that I did chuckle just a little bit at the commercial, I also think that showing Patrick as a sex object alone undermines the fact that she is the first female in history to win the IndyCar race.
My big complaint: I wish Patrick were in a commercial that highlighted her success as opposed to standing in a shower oblivious to the testosterone-charged geeks watching over her.
