People Put on Your thinking caps
People keep saying that this gameis horrible.Well think about it if you say the game is horrible then you are insaulting the company who made the series and all the people who like this game.Content is mild but thats the only thing.Lots of companies have made worse and Rockstar is 10/10 for companies that have made graphic games.Thats not bad for rockstar.So if oyu know your kid won't act like that go buy them this game!

not that bad
Well, my son recently begged for this game saying it wasn't as bad as the other titles in this series. I soon found out it really wasn't. It does have violence and a bit of language, but I couldn't find hardly any sex in the game. SO if your child is begging for this game I would just think of how mature they are and if they could handle it first.

Unbelievable
As long as your mature teen has some understanding, then he/she/it can play this game, but I don't get why parents are stupid enough to let their kids even under 10 play this. I mean, would a first or second grader be amused by all the violence and people having sex? It shows too much portrayal of it, but as usual, it is likely to be a joke. This is almost on par with Conker's Bad Fur Day.

While highly controversial, not the least redeemable.
GTA: Vice City has bee a favourite whipping boy of anti-game activists ever since it's release. I find that to be unfortunate. Make no mistake: This game is one of the more extreme games available to the general market, and not appropriate for most kids. However, even in Vice City, there are things you could discuss with kids, should you allow them to play it. Why does a character like Tommy Vercetti (or his film counterpart, Scarface's Tony Montana) become a glorified cult hero? What causes urban gang violence? These questions deserve discussion, though playing this game is still not likely to be wise for most kids.

This game should be taken off the shelves of stores!!! i know it says 17 and older that does not prevent some parents from buying this for their children only to let thism play this! this game includeds violence, running people over, shooting people and to get your life replenished you must go out and get a hooker! This is a horrible game and what does it teach our youth?? it teaches them violence and how to disrespect women at a young age. I understand thos is for grownups but what is to stop an older sibleing from letting their smaller sibling from playing it?? It sends a very bad message and only hurts society! Get the GAME off the shelves before it damages our youth anymore!!! Horrible game and should have never been made!!!

Lets be real about this
This game does not deserve the flak it is getting. I will say this, you MUST be mature and explain things when/if you want to get this game for your kid/teen. Politicans fail to mention that in this game YOU have FULL control of you actions. You can go through the whole game and just do the mission and enjoy the very well written story. Or you can do a murderous rampage or stealing and killing for no reason, thats FREEDOM for you. I've beaten this game and the previous GTA without going on rampages.

This games teaches....
This game teaches you things like what not to do. In my opinion (and maybe every other gamer out there) GTA: Vice City is not a game that teaches you violence or how to do drugs or anything of that matter. Kids can get it from school or anywhere else. The clinch on this game is simple. Someone stole your bosses money and the cocaine. Two of your best freinds are dead (eh, Scarface anyone?) You want to find out who did it. Now...through the game, you meet new people like, Candy Suxxx and Mercedes. This game teaches you sex, what not to do (i.e. kill people). My cousin like it, and he is only 10.

Shows up the hypocracy of mainstream morality
People have criticised this game for its violence, sex, drug use and generally morally irresponsible content. What they fail to realise is that it is all a satire of modern American society. Just listen to the in game radio stations, especially the talk stations KCHAT and VCPR, with their over the top evangelists, politicians, academics etc. That said it is not suitable for the children or over sensitive adults. One final point: You don’t have to sleep with prostitutes if you don’t want to and you certainly don’t have to kill them unless you believe your character (voiced by the excellent Ray Liotta) should behave like a sick murdering bastard.

Great Game for our Ages
This my friends, is one of the best games I have ever laid my hands on. I would let my kids (If I had any) play this game to learn about how the real world is these days. Drugs, violence, bad language, the way the world really is.

OMG Violence
OK, I'm 18, and I enjoy playing this game very much so, and so does my 15 year old younger brother. I have been playing violent video games since the age of about 11 I'd say, when my grandfather purchased Doom2 Hell on Earth for me. You know what? that was the coolest back then blowing all the monsters up and stuff. But I NEVER even thought of taking the game out of the game and doing something stupid like shooting a bunch of people cause I could do it on my computer. But back to GTA yes it is violent, but its not as pointless as some think. You don't just go around shooting people and stealing cars. There is a really good story behind it all. To sum it up Tommy just gets out of jail where he has been for 15 years and comes back to Vice City to take it over. The game really is great when it comes to the story so I think you ignorant people should actually play the game before blowing up on it. And another thing, the game is rated "Mature" after all, and most store won't even sell M games to young kids with out parent permission. So you would assume that the parents would be aware if their frail little boy is playing this game.

Warning: this game will make you be a good parent
I'm 18. I play GTA: Vice City. Deal with it. The fact of the matter is, GTA has inspired kids to commit heinous crimes, such as the shooting in Florida where the male-nurse was killed. Why weren't the parents locking up the guns? Why did they purchase the game for the kids? Games have ratings. You should all try reading them. GTA is, at its core, a mafioso wonder that rival the Godfather or Scarface. It's brutal, sex-fueled drug-snatching fun. If you're an adult, it is a great game. If you're a parent, maybe you should not by this for lil' Jonny.

Onne of the cleaner GTA's
THis is one of the cleanest GTA's out there but you can search very hard and try to break into a stripclub but unless you try to find it it wont happen, otherwise sex is not in it. if your looking for a 100% sex free GTA get Grand Theft Auto III, it just has mild violence and language.

Pretty good
D**n people, its just a game. Sure, a violent one, but your kid should know they shouldn't go outside with a loaded handgun and randomly kill people, or blow up a building with C4, or buy smuggled cocaine from a group of Colombian gangsters. Really. I started playing all of the GTAs when I was 8 or 9, and you don't see on the news "12 year old boy kills family, blows up town, sells blow." If your kid gets violent, don't blame Rockstar games. Blame yourself.

a fun but violent game

Honost kids point of view......
ok now usualy i am not ottally agreeing whith the little common sence not thing but this time i do. The sex the player can pick up hokers and basically have sex whith them in the car although you don't acctually whatch you see the car vibrating.the violence absolutly of the charts it's a hundred times worse thant mist fighting games! and considering the hardcore dangorous wepons you find laying around or can get of a dead cop violence is not only continuos but on a whole diferent level than most in fact most people who say own a wepons shop have probably never ever seen most of the hight tech guns they have on this game. As for language there have been worse and there have been better but on this game it is probably a lesser problem if thats possible to belive. Now on drugs and alcohol the player can mostly get drugs i haven't seen much alcohol to be honost. but back on drugs i've gptten high by accident maybe twice how is that really.I haven't seen very much commercilism so i guess thats not a problem. the social behavior is unexceptable i mean from the killing to stealling cars it is absolutly NOT for children in fact adults should'n even wast their time on that trash although yes it is adictave and has pretty good graphics it is still indeed trash. now i will give tips on how to keep this from your kids. instead of saying no say that that game is old and it's trash then ofer to buy a game more suited for them but whith the same excitment and possibly even adictiveness such as a racing game a wrestling game or something like a scatebording game (scatbording games are addictive)

lots and lots of killing, but fun. theres blood and some sex, horrible driving and language. of course, this could be like a 8 and up because you can choose not to kill and not to crash cars.

i think this game was awesome i got it when i was 9 years old. it is a good game and is actually good when you are growing up. why you may ask? because it teaches you not what to do, and becoming a teenager can be hard and it seems like no one understands you. when you get mad instead of damaging things you can go play gta and feel better killing some people that are not even real! instead of hurting a person that is real. drugs and violence are not that bad. it is not like you will be a "bleep" like lindsey lohan and go around drunk and hi al the time...

Ok, First thing most of us think when we first play or see something about this game is "OMG! I don't want my child to want to do these things!" But, my son has a friend that plays games like these. he has no problems and acts exactly the way my son does. There is nothing wrong him. So please understand that this game does not spell evil for your child. Thank you for your time.
