good but some sex innuendos and some mild language (think d word or a word)

Best video game to even be created.I beat it on expert.
This game is the most fun and simple- to-play music game there is to buy. With songs like "Barracuda","Welcome to the Jungle",and "Rock you like a hurricane". This game gives kids the chance to learn new songs we adults liked from the past.I rememberd when I saw Guns & Roses in concert and they were playing "Welcome to the Jungle" that rocked my soul all night long. For adults this game lets us relive those old classic days with each live performance recorded and put into the game.Must by for adults and/or kids. And the only reason I suggested 7 and up is because there are female characters in skimpy and scantily clad clothing.

Good
This is a good game, aside from some of the songs and images portrayed. I say get to know your child first before buying it for him/her. Yes you do play in hell and have to battle for your soul in story mode, but you do have an option to not play story mode. Either that or explain to your child what is right and what is wrong before setting them free on this game. There's songs for everyone in this game, and people with the Xbox 360 can get more songs as they please, so parents if you want your child to play more age appropriate music, download the songs you want them to play. I'll say it again, theres songs for everyone in this game.

Do you like rock songs? If you do then guitar hero 3:ledgens of rock is for you.All you have to do is pick up the guitar controler and press the button at the same time switch a switch to strum. In carrer play as 13 different charachters. complete 5songs or a boss song.one of my favorite bosses is Tom morrelo. Also one of favorite songs is through the fire and flames by Dragonforce.Guitar hero 3 is for 8+.you will like it like me.

Rockin' game fine for mature preteens and up
Sexual Content (Pause): Songs contain some sexual innuendo. Characters wear revealing outfits. Violence (Not an Issue): None. Language (Pause): Two written uses of the s-word, but they're blanked out (you can still guess what they are). Social Behavior (Pause): Glamorizes the rockstar lifestyle - drinking, ruining hotel rooms, and more. Commercialism (Pause): Gibson guitars, Ernie Ball strings, Paste magazine, and the Pontiac truck. Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco (Pause): Many references to drinking, and the band plays in bars. Educational Value (On): Gives you an idea of how to play the guitar.

Satanic Undertones Destroy a Great Game
I enjoyed playing this game with my 9 year old son. The beginning of the game features a great mix of music, ranging from classic rock to grunge to more contemporary collections. The game spirals quickly into a complete set of satanic rock songs that you are playing for the devil in hell, trying to reclaim your soul. Song selections on this level are not appropriate for children to listen to or play along with. The game may now find itself in the trash. Be careful parents- you can't just watch the beginning of games to figure out where they end up.

Idiot
To the person who wrote the review about the 666 thing. You are an effing idiot.

Sad
Wake up parents, do you not see the 666 in the background on this game? Do you really want your children jamming to the Beast and the Harlet? Check out the background next time. Satan will use any avenue he can to expose himself to our children. It is a shame that this had to be put in this game. We will not allow it in our home! The devil has no place here!

Music is great. Dual career mode is great group fun.
I play this game with my son. The dual career mode requires 2 guitars. Some songs are only unlocked in dual career mode. Both my son and I are enjoying playing this game. We can either play against each other or play together (one on lead guitar and the other on base). It is a lot of fun for both newbies and gets better as you get experienced. Fun for a group of people.

Rock This Town
Very good game, noticable improvements from previous 'Guitar' Titles, nice song selection; which might do young children some good to hear 'older music'.

Good But Not Great
It's fun but not a great game. It is not bad I reccomend it for 8 plus.

GOOD GAME!!!
This game is awesome! The song list will not disappoint anyone, or bore them. It may feature some anti-religious material "The Number Of The Beast". But other than that everything is fine. Ages 6+

Honestly, I didn't like it.
It didn't really hold anything new compared to the earlier guitar heros and I think the songs actually kinda sucked.

this game is fine for all ages
most kids can not even understand what they are saying. im 15 and tired of some parents being super strict. my little cuz is 4 and loves the game he dose not even know what they are singing.

This game rocks out loud
I had been waiting to get this game after the excitement I got from GH Aerosmith. When I got it (a short time after school started) With the four levels of difficulty, kids are sure to enjoy. It offers a variety of music from paint it black to sunshine of your love to Through the fire and Flames. I had some difficulty with guitar battles, but with the cost of fame comes a price to pay in battles to prove yourself worthy of moving forward. For 12 and up for lyrics. The last teir of songs is most difficult to me.

awsome
theres just one bad thing about this game these stuck up kids get it and say there a fan of the band but they really only know one song

GH 3 is an awesome game. unfortunately some females wear only bras and a knee-cut blouse. I don't have any christian religion so i don't care. But to all christians and people who get offended this is not the right game for you. It has some sexual references. I woulold say the average 13 year old and mature 11 year old. By the way, nobody who plays this that I know is average unless you see people that say iew she's wearing a bra and no shirt. Aah that guy has spikes on him. good game overall

a must play game
fun but it gets boring after a while

Have you read the adult reviews?
Look, I know some of the adult reviews might've given you a bad image of this game, but really, it's not that bad. It's a game--you won't actually lose your soul or play guitar in hell. It improves hand-eye coordination and finger speed. It's educational. The songs are good, and if lyrics are an issue for you, talk about it. PS: Rise Against is the greatest band ever.

Awesome Game!!!
Guitar Hero 3 is one of the most fun video games out there. I think it is the best of the guitar hero games. parents need to know that some songs have mild language in the lyrics and that in some points of the game female dancers come out onto the sides of the stage and dance in tight clothing.

Fun Guitar Game
Guitar Hero III is extremely fun, it can get repetive though once you get all the songs, and when i tried to play online there were no games up.
- I rate this title on for age 2 and give it
Excellent Game!
This game is great! I don't see why some parents are going crazy and saying the devil is in this game. I play the real guitar, and yes, they are COMPLETELY different, the real guitar being more challenging to play. However, I love this game because it's better than playing the guitar with a playstation 3 controler and it has set my dreams to learn to play some of the songs from the game on the real guitar. Buy this game and the other guitar heros!

Great,awesome game
guitar hero is a great game.kind of hard for the littler kids, though. if the little kids are thinking about playing it, parents, think before you do that. language issue and a tiny alcohol issue. but still, great game

BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!
THIS IS AWESOME! IT'S THE FACT THAT IT'S A GUITAR GAME THAT MAKES IT ROCK :) (haha funny joke.) i think that anybody ages 12-unlimited age would enjoy this game i highly reccomend it

Are you serious Common Sense? I play a musical insturment, and I know that playing a video game does not, absolutley not make you "fine tune" a guitar. This game is okay, but people need to know that this game doesn' teach you anything, except how to not have a life.

A five year old's way of playing guitar
OK look, I just wan to say, I like this game, a little, but see, I'm a guitar player myself and I bought this game thinking it would be a laugh, oh but it wasn't. I started playing it and its ok once you get the hang of it, its just that it takes away from what I love about playing guitar, you can make a song your own, you can cover it anyway you want to but, its just that it tells you what you have to play, the game tells you what notes to hit and so on and its just horrible. If you want to feel what its like on stage with a REAL guitar, learn, thats it just buy a half decent guitar for a couple of hundred quid and your set, but if you just want to have a laugh with your mates at a party, get this games thats all it can be used for....
