Problems for a 6 year old
Although CS has rated this on for 6+, it's really for older kids who can read. There's an enormous amount of reading needed to play this game, and my 6 year old is just starting to read. This was not mentioned in the the review. The game is quite complicated, but my child has caught on pretty quickly, and as long as he has an adult nearby who can read all the dialog to him, he has a great time playing.

A Must have!
I do want a Pokemon Diamond and a Nintendo DS for Christmas! I discovered Pokemon ever since I was in forth grade! My parents had no clue what pokemon was about until the day my whole family saw the first two pokemon shows on TV. My mother feared it would be a bad influence, but I didn't care.

my kids are obsessed!
My 8 year old bought Pearl and my 11 year old bought Diamond, both with their allowance money saved up. They bought this game in mid-May, and they have been playing it nearly non-stop ever since! (it's now early July) They love trading pokemon with each other and friends, and they were completely excited that they could migrate from previous versions and into the new Pokemon Battle Revolution game for the Wii. This one's definitely worth the money as far as holding their interest! Challenging for both boys, but well within reach.

Best Video Game In The UNIVERSE!
OK, when I first heard of pokemon I thought it was the craziest idea and nobody anywhere would like it. And I myself doubted it would ever be fun. I thought it was just plain weird. But one day I saw my cousin catch a Buizel, and every time a wild pokemon appeared I said "Battle it! Please!" Finally I bought it and set to work, playing it for so long that I caught Dialga and was on my way to the Pokemon League while my cousin, who'd had it for a year, was far behind. I managed to guide a few people thru Mt. Coronet, and people at school ask me how to get thru the game. I will never stop playing it and NEVER sell it. It is the best game I've ever seen in my life! Pokemon Platinum has the same story except that Giratina is the main legendary, so they are both amazing, no matter what. I've been playing LeafGreen and Emerald, and neither are close to as good.

A looooong Pokémon adventure.
Again the same formula is applied, the scenario is even worse, the 4th generation has plenty ugly Pokémon, but the game mechanics are EXTREMELY GOOD. The physical/special is applied to moves instead of types, and strategy is on a really high level on this one. There's nearly every Pokémon from every generation, so you can spend hundreds and hundreds of hours searching them and making them evolve. It never gets old. Reading is IMPOSED to fully enjoy the title. Aside from that, everybody can play to Pokémon without minding being offensed or whatever.

My friends got me into Pokemon so I picked up this game, thinking I'd get bored of it. Ends up it is really fun! I love catching pokemon and doing other activities on it. It is excellent.

Fun, and VERY challenging
This game is very fun but it is a huge challenge. There are multiple conflicts including defeatng a major evil agency, completing your pokedex, and beating the elite four in an intense battle. along the way you also must collect all 8 gym badges by battling 8 different poke masters, each of which has a different specialty (e.g. water, grass, fire, etc.). So overall you will enjoy this game as long as you enjoy challenges.

I played it but couldn't beat elite 4 champion
This game is a rather long version full of having to go back and forth completing goal after goal and task after task to get one step ahead. I got all the way to the elite four champion and could not beat her. I finaly traded it in for cash along with other things to buy another game. its like all the others so not really inappropriate.

A tried-and-true formula
Hello, dearest readers, and let me introduce you to the world of Pokémon. Now, before you start fretting about your religious views, I must say that Pokémon is not Devil-sent; Pokémon stands for Pocket Monsters and not Pocket Demons like you may have heard. There is even a Christian Church in this game, even if the Pokémon world has its own religion, and the people within are quiet and respectful. Now that I have gotten that out of the way, let me tell you about the creatures themselves. Pokémon are like animals with elemental abilities; there are seventeen elements or "Types" in total. These creatures are hugely diverse, as there are over 493 species overall. But they are not all their own, separate being, no. Pokémon can change into a stronger form if the right conditions are met in a process called evolution. This evolution is not the Darwinian variety, but actually more akin to metamorphosis. Pokémon are engaged in friendly little fights or battles, in which the worst condition possible is fainting (Though Pokémon death is implied through the appearance of a graveyard). Any violence isn't visible as the sprites are static, the only way to tell its current condition is via a HP bar to the side of the creature. The attacks are only pretty animations and don't really imply anything violent. Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are easy to pick up and play, as long as your child is literate. The plot, though with new-universe-megalomaniacal intentions, is not offensive. There are few references to adult themes (except one sign in a particular place warning people to not get in a bed with another person, but this is perhaps just for fun), and the whole thing is relatively clean. Young children and children who lack the internet may not catch a few references to internet memes, such as a few people calling you a 'noob' (new person), or exclaiming "Cosmic energy for the win!" (For the win means it is awesome, or meaning "GO!") For the older PokéFans, they may find this game a little repetitive. Truly, the only things that differ from all to-be thirteen versions are the Pokémon and the graphics. But these graphics sure are nice to look at compared to good old Red, Green and Blue, despite the jaggies. This game is definetly worth the money, but beware: Pokémon is highly addictive. You may find on your hands an eight-year-old who has become antisocial due to the compulsive need to "catch 'em all". If you dislike the anime, do not despair: These games are nowhere near as repetitive as that old cartoon.

I really love this game!
This is one of my favorite DS games. You catch and train creatures. It is not very violent, they don't even touch each other when fighting! Pokemon faint if they lose all of their health, though. But you take them to a Pokemon Center to get them healed for free. My favorite Pokemon is my male Luxray named Hugs. I have Pearl, not Diamond, though. I won't spoil how to get a Luxray, though. You can dress up your Pokemon at the T.V. station after you have gotten a fashion case. I love dressing up Hugs! Goodbye for now.
