    Best on DS

The Wii version suffers from clunky, unrefined controls which make the game a real burden to play; and had the game not have had the Simpsons brand backing it up, then I probably wouldn't have bothered persisting with this game which was obviously rushed out in order to meet its deadline. I've also played the PS3 version, and the controls are only slightly improved over that of the Wii, however the poor controls seem to be universal across all platforms. The DS version however, which was designed separately from its console brothers (even though the storyline and level locations are largely the same), is a side-scroller which plays a lot better than the meatier console versions. If you can, give the DS version a try as its technically, the most refined version of the lot. Content wise, there is frequent hand-on-hand and projectile combat in The Simpsons Game, however the violence is cartoonish and is unlikely to cause concern (although some may be concerned by violence directed at child characters, which can be perpetrated by adult characters). There is also some very mild language throughout the game which is unlikely to cause concern, and the game contains two uses of mild coarse language in the form of "b-tch", which is used in two cut-scenes in the console versions of the games, and just once in the DS version. One level, which parodies the Grand Theft Auto series of games, features cat and mouse pimps and prostitutes, however, sexual innuendo is fairly minimal and is likely to fly over the heads of younger gamers. The DS version is accessible for gamers of all ages, however, younger children may struggle with the flunky controls of the Wii/PS3/PS2/360/PSP versions. Worth a rental for casual Simpsons fans.

Fantastic Game That Lives Up to the Television Series!!

"The Simpsons Game" is as good as a game based on a TV show gets. It's hilarious and fun. The game is just as good as the TV show because it is just one long game mocking video games and other media such as "Batman", "World of Warcraft", "Metel of Honor", and "Pokemon". It is an original story and very creative. The humor in the game will attract older fans more than kids because the jokes are aimed toward them, but not because of adult themes. The jokes appeal to adults and older teens more because of the references to games that kids may have never played nor would they have interest in playing. Things to look out for: References to alcohol and drug use are very mild and just might go over a kid's head. Violence is very cartoony and funny sometimes (ie: Homer eats living chocolate bunnies, the bunnies let out bloodcurtling screams of confusion and horror). Also, there is one scene where Bart and Lisa are inside a factory that makes video games and there is an extended sequence where they are inside the "blood factory" and everything is covered in blood as well as blood shooting out of pipes like waterfalls. Language is a bit stronger than in the series, but just like a TV show the characters do get bleeped (this happenes 2 times in the game) what is not bleeped are words such as "d*mn", "h*ll", "bi*ch" and in an extended sequence making fun of "Grand Theft Auto" the words "h*" and "pimp" can be heard several times. Product placement is obvious, especially in the ending of the game where Matt Groening places his characters from "Futurama" in the game as well as other consoles such as Playstation, Xbox 360, and the Wii. Product placement also occurs in the fact that entire segments of the game are devoted to mocking other games by placing "The Simpsons" characters in the middle of the game being made fun of. I put Messages Aren't Positive for one reason: Religion is mocked. The entire ending level of the game (lasting a good 40 minutes of gameplay) takes place in Heaven and the game is won by defeating God in a game of "Dance Dance Revolution". It is a funny idea because of its absurdity. I doubt that Matt Groening was intentionally trying to offend, it is just supposed to be an abusurd idea to play against the Lord in "Dance Dance Revolution". The game shows good role models in the fact that the Simpson family works together to save each other and also Marge strives to make the world a better place for her kids in a humorous way. Bottom line: Fun to play, original and hilarious. Ages 12+. 5/5 stars. Enjoy.

    Silly game provides crude laughs

Sexual Content (Pause): Some sexual references. Violence (Pause): Lots of cartoon violence, and gallons of blood in one level. Language (Pause): A couple of uses of "hell", "damn", "crap", and "bitch". Social Behavior (Pause): Marge and Lisa are strong female characters, but Homer and Bart (along with many other characters) are bad role models. Some crude humor. Commercialism (Pause): Some references to other video games. Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco (Pause): References to drinking and smoking. Educational Value (Not an Issue): None.

The TV Show Based Game Is A Hit!

This Game Is Awesome. You'd think that a game based off of a TV show would suck, but it's actually really fun. I own it for the XBOX 360 and I've beat it a lot and I still enjoy it. Overall the violence is cartoony, but the game's only rated for "Animated Blood" because in the level "Enter The Cheatrix", there is a "blood factory" in one room where there are 2 huge barrels with gallons of blood in it, and when you remove the tubes on the side, the blood drains out. But the blood doesn't look real and it's only for that one part of the level. So if you love the show, you'll for sure love the game because the classic humor from the show stays.

    amazing

When I played it with my friend at his house I thoght it might be a little iffy but boy was I wrong. sure there was d**b d****t I didn't get that far but it was halious. The first level you are in Homers dream and it's nothing but sweats and you have to fight evil chocolate bunnies at the end theres a little clip that Homer says not dreaming not dreaming and wakes up and says d****t I was dreaming why can't the world be made of sweats and everything you can eat d**b you reality. I say if you are 9 and up and don't do anything they do your okay.

    wow

It is a lot of fun to play. They say things like "Oh!D**n my choclate nerves!" "Your son is below average!" "Bart hates you!" . I think it has a reasonable rating of T. E 10+ really isn't a reasonable rating. But the common sense rating 12+ is good.

    I laughed

And again another review The Simpson’s game is a really funny game. Violence: No blood but you hit people or with special powers. If you hit someone twice in Springfield they run away screaming if you hit them constantly they fall down on the ground (10 secs and they get back up). Language: C**p, Damn, hell, ass light casual swearing bi**h is said although one level Grand Theft Scratchy Marge say’s it a lot but it is talking about DOGS. Drugs Social behaviour and Sex: A bit of smoking and drinking. Nothing that bad. A bit of sex references but no nakedness. Message: Nothing much just save Springfield.

    To those who say NO

To all of you out there who say this is a bad game, with profanity, just don't buy it. Some parents really don't care and they watch the show. The kids probably already know what the stuff means if they didn't tell their parents anyway.

This game is not suitable for kids!

Sexual Content: Some sexual references. Like rude acroynms. Violence: Some blood is used. Langauge: 3 F-words 1 S-word and some uses of hell, damn and the A-word. Drugs/Alcohol/Tobacco: Some references to alcohol and tobacco.

    good game not appropriate

everybody is a fan of the simpsons. unfortunately this video game has too many references to sex and strong language. Some very religious references such as when god said oh f--- It was censored but implying profanity is just as bad. I think this game should have received the M rating. Alot of simpsons fans will think i am crazy but that's their problem. Some sexual themes are present such as when homer yells"whoo hoo marital sex" i recommend this game for 15-17 year olds. no sexual content.

I got the DS VERSION and it was ok i never get to finish the heaven part, but the part when you have to fight the aliens in the mall they may mention the word "sex" and the opening part when Homer and Marge are dressed up as Zelda characers they may flirt a bit..but i actually recomend this 12 and up for DS VERSION!

this game is awesome! you get to go around and fight crime and when your marge you try to cancel the making of an "inappropriate" video game called,"Grand Theft Scratchy". In the end of the game you have to beat God in DDR. i highly recommend this game!!!

    Good Stuff

The Simpsons Game as any other game is a good game for their fans. If you watch The Simpsons regularly then this is a must buy or rent. To understand the inside jokes that make it fun or fun-ny, you have to watch the Simpsons regularly. The game is pretty fun and has collectibles and video game cliches by the comic book guy. There are different episodes, and beating them can get frustrating sometimes, but iyou'll beat it eventually ( a few more tries is all it takes)!

    Play this game today.

Obviously, this is a game that took the whole market by suprise. This game is aimed at kids and has the storylines of many The Simpsons episodes. There are continuous funny references that will keep you coming for more and more... There is not a lot of content in this game worth worrying about. Violence is iffy as you can attack other characters, and there is a spoof of the WW2 game "Medal of Honour" which contains some blood. The language is mild, but there is some of it. The Social Behaviour is not an issue and Bart and Homer must try and stop some kids stealing from the Museum. Coolchris330, Also, this review is based on the WII version of the game, not all of the facts expressed on this review are true to other platform versions.
