Great game for kids and teens. Only minor downsides

SKATE is one of the most realistic skateboarding games out there. The only bad things about it are the violence, product placement, and bad rolemodels. Here are some examples of the bad things: 1.Getting hit by cars has never been so bone breakingly sounded. 2.one of the missions has you being chased by cops while gaining a 1000 points 3.everything you wear is a REAL brand OTHER THAN THAT, THE GAME IS GREAT FOR KIDS.

    the name should be awesome!

As a note to parents, the only blood and gore is a hilarious live-action opening cut-scene where there's a construction worker holing his severed arm and said "can the doctor take a look at this? The language is not bad but happens repeatedly, though mostly when in cut-scenes or your character gets hit by a car. The only violence is when San Vanelona security catches you, and punches your avatar or something like that.

The Gist of Tony Hawk Game To A New Level

I used to play Tony Hawk pro skater games all the time on my XBOX, but now that I've tried "Skate," I don't think I can go back! The game is kind of iffy for some ages. Language considers curse words that you'll probably hear sprinkled in everyday conversation, just mild obscenities. Sexual content is extremely limited. I don't think I saw one flirting scene. Violence, though, is heavy. If you look on the back of the box, it's rated for blood and gore, but by "gore," it's just showing pictures of bones you broke when you smash into stuff. Smashing into moving cars, ollying old lady's backs, running into lampposts, and falling down open manholes are my personal favorite things to do (because I'm weird) as your character can flip around in comic ways. I played it with my dad watching and even though language spews from the game, he laughed every time I would (deliberately) smash into something. Buy this game and start smackin' into junk!

This game blows Tony Hawk's games out of the water!

Well when I first saw this game, I thought it was copying Tony Hawk and wasn't interested, then I found out that "skate." was going to be a skateboarding simulator, I got so excited for this game then. Now I'll tell you now, this does not at all play like Tony Hawk, Tony Hawk is an arcade skate game and this is a sim and this game is also quite difficult. The reason why I like this game more than the Tony Hawk games simply is the gameplay, the gameplay is so good and satisfying that once you learn how to play the game, you'll never want to play Tony Hawk again. Now for content in language, violence etc. the worst part of this game is just the intro, where there was some blood in the hospital while it shows you being worked on in a emergency room, it isn't graphic and doesn't show anything but Mark Gonzalez (Doctor) has blood on his shirt at the end. There's one more thing I should note, the language, the language isn't really strong but it's used a lot so be prepared. Well anyway, "skate." is an excellent skateboarding game and shouldn't be missed. P.S. I recommend you buy the Xbox 360 version because the PS3 version has been known for a bad framerate (the game slows down and gets really choppy).

i think that dis game is great and not inapropiate . theres just alittle blood in the intro. and you can get hit by a car, but no blood at all. dis game is different because it has a new kind of system its flick it. so i think kids from the age 9 is ok for dem to play dis game

    Lots of Work

If you do buy this game, which it is appropriate for almost all ages, make sure you're kid doesn't get frustrated easily. At the beginning learning all of the controls can get annoying, due to the complications involved with the controls. But otherwise fun and good game.

    Great start

This game is fun, no doubt, but it has its issues. I would recomend it, especially if you liked the Tony Hawk games. Taking intuitive analog controls from TH's Project 8, the left stick controls your body, while the right stick, your feet. This is an awesome, but imperfect system. The controls aren't perfect, but they work better than anything before. The biggest turn on or off for most will be the exclusion of TH's magical boarding tricks, though you might claim magic when you finally clear the gap or pull the Christ Air. The challenge is formidable, but it's still really fun, and the sponser system is realistically fun.

THis game is unbeleivable!!! I was a big fan of Tony Hawk but this goes beyond my expectation. There is no button to grind, you ollie onto the rail! It is a great game! Not really bad.

    awsome

the first time i played this game it took my breath away, and now it still is. this is quite simply one of the greatest games i have ever played. the flicket control system works like a charm. the violence that is in the game is not really violence at all, it is physics driven realistic falls that people like tony hawk and chad muska have to deal with every day. language is the only problem with this game, the various forms of d[never combined with god] and a words are said infrequently. very fun game and i wouldrecommend it to anyone over the age of ten.

    Skate Rocks

Skate is a new competitor in the skating genre of games and it was specially designed for the xbox 360 and ps3. In the game you play as someone you create after you get hit by a bus. On the way you meet some new people and do some awesome moves.
