Common Sense Note

If your kids saw the movies, there is nothing more violent here in content except that it's ALL battles and nothing else. Lots of shooting, zapping, etc. all with the sounds from the movies. This can be either a 3rd person or 1st person shooter game. The game moves quickly and keeps going even after the "guy" you choose dies and could potentially frustrate younger players. Parents should know that if they buy this for their kids (and it's expensive) that they will hear all those battle sounds and not much else emanating from the screen. This is a game that doesn't spawn much conversation -- it's just battles, battles and more battles.

Common Sense Review

Reviewed By: Liz Perle

All the battles from all five (and a hint of the sixth) Star Wars movies can be played in this excellent game. The entertainment value is very high -- kids can play alone or with up to 32 players over the Internet (although connecting can be tricky and will definitely involve someone who knows what they're doing to troubleshoot). There is no blood and no gore, but it's a non-stop shooter, explosion game. Parents who don't like their kids playing first person and third person games with guns shouldn't buy this. But if you want to know the level of violence, there is nothing different than that which is in all the movies. There's just not anything but the battles.

The graphics and sound effects are phenomenal. So is the range of weaponry. You can play in any of ten planets, fifteen environments; you can choose from twenty different solder types from the Rebel Alliance, the Imperial, Clone or Droid Armies.

Younger kids will be a bit frustrated when trying to shoot from speeder bikes since they move too fast, but they will enjoy jumping on and off them. Winning a battle takes time, and when a player dies, they can spawn again in the battle either in the form they were in or they can choose to be another type of soldier. Battle progress is difficult at times, which also might frustrate younger kids.

All in all, this is an excellent quality game. It just comes down to an individual decision about how much battle noise you want to hear coming out of your television set.
