Star Wars Battlefront
What’s the Story?
All the battles from five (and a hint of the sixth) Star Wars movies can be played in STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT. You can play in any of 15 environments on 10 planets. You can choose from 20 different solder types from the Rebel Alliance, the Imperial, Clone or Droid armies.
Is It Any Good?
The entertainment value is very high -- kids can play alone or with up to 32 players over the Internet (although connecting can be tricky and will definitely involve someone who knows what they're doing to troubleshoot). There is no blood and no gore, but it's a non-stop shooter, explosion game. The violence is no different from the movies. There's just not anything but the battles.
The graphics and sound effects are phenomenal, and so is the range of weaponry. Younger kids will be frustrated when trying to shoot from speeder bikes since they move too fast, but they will enjoy jumping on and off them. Winning a battle takes time, and when a player dies, they can spawn again in the battle either in the form they were in or they can choose to be another type of soldier. Battle progress is difficult at times, which also might frustrate younger kids.
