What Parents Need to Know
This review of We Ski was written by Marc Saltzman
Parents need to know that this is a game that can be played on the Wii Balance Board but that it can also be enjoyed using Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers. There is a minor alcohol reference when the player delivers food to one of the characters in the game and the character remarks about how they wish they had wine to go with it. This is a fun game for up to four kids to play together.
Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about how the Nintendo Wii has reinvented how we play video games with its motion-sensing Wii Remote. Can the Japanese game company do the same with the Wii Balance Board? Other companies, like EA, are planning to use the peripheral, too, such as in the upcoming Skate sequel. What kind of games do you hope to see use the Wii Balance Board?
More on We Ski
What’s the Story?
In the single-player games, players can stand on the Wii Balance Board and use their body to shift weight from one sensor to another to navigate down the hill. But up to four players can hit the virtual slopes on the same television (but not online) and use the wireless Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers to slalom down the mountain.
