The wheel of fate is definitely turning in Guilty Gear's worthy successor
For those of you who don't know, BlazBlue is the spiritual successor to a fighting game series called Guilty Gear, which had multiple incarnations across different systems. There was Guilty Gear, Guilty Gear X, Guilty Gear X+, Guilty Gear X2, Guilty Gear X2#Reload (seriously), Guilty Gear Isuka, Guilty Gear X2 ? Core, and Guilty Gear X2 ? Core+, along with Guilty Gear 2 Overture, which was not that good because it had 3D graphics. Now, Arc System Works, the developer of the GG series, knew that sticking to 2D fighting was best, so they made the game BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger. Since the other Guilty Gear games were excellent fighters, it should come at no surprise that this game is an excellent fighter. There's a good story, beautiful graphics, and a great soundtrack, but nobody cares about that. You want this game because you're in it for the fighting. And BlazBlue does its job extremely well. It's easy to play, but only if you get an arcade stick for your PS3 or Xbox 360 (Google "PS3 arcade stick" or "360 arcade stick" for more info). In terms of content, this is a T-rated game for a reason: it's violent. It's a fighter, so why should it NOT be? Some characters have swords and guns, and like Common Sense said, a few attacks can shock and burn other characters, and when a character is hit, they lose some health (well, duh) and this is shown in-game as dark red stuff, so it looks like blood. There's also some jiggling of female characters' clothed breasts (again, this is to be expected considering that this is a fighting game). Other than that and some innuendo and language, this game is fine for teens. If you're into fighting games, or are a fan of Guilty Gear, by all means GET THIS GAME.

My avatar should tell you my opinion on the game. Only real complaint I can find is the fact that it needs some more characters.

Complicated Controls
This is a very good game but they are several flaws that if they were fixed this would be a 5-Star game. First off the Graphics and Story are great the Cutscenes are hilarious at times. Most of the language comes from Ragna who says about one curse word every cutscene. The controls are kind of buggy and some of the combos you have to use the joystick for and you also move a bit slow.

A fun fighting game with plenty of complexities underneath for the hardcore crowd.
I recommend this game to any technical fighter enthusiast, but there are a few things to look out for. It's easy to pick up and play a character semi-effectively on your first shot, barring people like Rachel and Carl, (You'll probably need more experience to use them well, since Rachel is a trap character and Carl uses a marionette in battle that has to be controlled along with him.) The game is extremely fun, with a strangely strong story and lots of replay value; it's great to grab a friend and play together, as well. On top of that, the sprites are absolutely gorgeous, and the soundtrack has a little something for everyone. That said, on to the stuff to look out for. The characters have a wide range of personalities, and while some people are nice, good-hearted individuals, others are unrepentant jerks and in some cases, completely and utterly insane. Oh, and there's Hakumen, who, while working for a good cause, is not by any means nice. Anyway, the violence in this game is pretty huge as well; expect lots of brutal moves, throws, and specials. Of course, this is a fighting game, so if you weren't expecting violence, I don't know what to tell you. As for the sexual content, it's mostly pretty mild, and most of it is played for laughs - like a scientist mentioning adding rockets to Tager's GIGANTIC TAGER!!! Yes, that is a euphamism, and yes, that is precisely what they censor the actual word with in-game. (It's a sound bite from one of his specials.) Well, in-skit; it's part of a non-canon, comedic little backstory-expanding segment. Regarding the "booby lady" mention in the official review, that's Taokaka's nickname for Litchi, since Taokaka's a silly little ditz who has difficulty remembering people's real names. The people online (at least in the PS3 version; I always expect the worst from Xbox Live, and so should you.) are generally very nice and supportive, but also very skilled; you will get the snot beaten out of you if you don't know exactly what you're doing. All in all, the content of the game is pretty tame, but that doesn't mean the story is completely safe for kids, both due to its mature content and because it can be very confusing. Be careful about who you give this to.
