Although the blood is pretty bad it isn't too horrible as long as you turn off the blood and cuss words in the options its alot of fun. if you want a new zombie level get DER REISE..... SO AWESOME
violence is a mild concern since you can see some gore but not alot.
nothing yuo wouldnt see in tv14 movie edits.
it is set in the heat of battle in WWII
so it is pretty educational.
and dont say there isnt any positive role models in this! these are the heroes that fought for our country!
very good game for 14+
If you want a less violent game, I'd consider call of duty 4 modern warfare
it is less violent yet more intense and fun.
Call of Duty World at War. This game is really fun and has educational value of world war two. The game has a lot of bad language and very gory violence. Grenades and heavy machineguns blow limbs off of bodies, blow heads off, and cause blood sprays. Despite this, the game is very fun and offers a lot of gamemodes to play
Who are we kidding? All kids play COD. I started playing this when I was like 13. But, according to this website, it would definitely earn the NO KIDS rating because of the Violence and Language.
LANGUAGE: Tons of F-words and S-words. In the campaign, online, and in Zombies (new maps.) There's no getting around the swearing (although I think there is a graphic content filter option, but I've never tried it.)
VIOLENCE: Gratuitous amounts of gore. In the campaign you can shoot off limbs or heads. Grenades blow soldiers apart and rip stomachs out of bodies. On XBOX Live, heads can't come off, but explosives slow blow soldiers up and limbs fly (You even get awards for taking limbs off using the tank). In Zombies mode, heads blow up, stumps spurt blood, bottomless torsos crawl towards you, leaving bloody trails behind them. It's not any MORE violent than the story mode, but it's just that you're fighting SO MANY zombies that it seems gorier. Plus, it's more horror/fear - themed, so all around it just seems very intense.
The game overall really IS NOT for kids ... but hey, they're gonna be playing it anyway. Just be aware that it is incredibly graphic and there's tons of profanity.
This game is a fun game, not as good as Call of Duty 4 might I add. Limbs fly everywhere and swear words will be heard. I haven't played the campaign at all, but I've watched Youtube a bit and have seen that it's quite violent. I recommend turning on the graphic content filter in the menu to take it down a notch, but it won't touch the multiplayer. As I said before, limbs are blown off w/ shotguns, artillary strikes, and sniper rifles quite often. It's not all too graphic, but you see bloody stumps of heads, arms, etc. It can get pretty gruesome. And Nazi zombie mode is worse, but very fun. I recommend this game to older teens, but you have to know your kid to know what they can take or should be exposed to.
amazing game. its alot of fun. best ww2 game out there. but kids of course, are gonna WANT the best ww2 game out there. so if kids are gonna want it, why did activision have to load it with cussing and gore? limbs will fly off, along with heads. lots of blood. yet theres a restriction in the options menu TO TURN OFF NOT JUST THE BLOOD AND GORE, BUT TE LANGUAGE ALSO! yeah thats right! you can easily turn off the gore and the language. that means no blood, no limbs or heads blown off, and no cussing. I SWEAR! I Have this game!
this game is the most violent game that i have there is a whole lot of bud and language. if you play the zombies mode of this game your charector occasionaly says somthing and almost alwase has the fbom in it plus you can shoot almost any limb of them off. in story mode there is also a lot of cussing and gore including shooting there heads off and things like that. over all this game is very bloody gory and has lots of language but is very vey addicting and fun
It only has a little bit of blood no gore at all.The violence is not intense just like any teen war game.As far as language it doe not have any f bombs no s--ts oly 2 uses of hel-
ok this is world war 2. they are going to cuss. they've frikken put their lives on the line to defend there country kids need to know world war 2 was a very very bad time. people did get body parts amputated. people were shot to death and mauled by dogs. they of course cussed there grown men in the middle of a world war 2 battlefield. but still if youre still a little uneasy about getting this for your kid, it has a gore and language filter.
on the other hand, this game is very educational. the characters in it were real soldiers. cutscenes and before scenes show you the history of world war 2 with newspaper articles form the 40s, war video footage and real life battle formation. and these guys are helping save their country and all of its inhabitants. get this game for your kid.
There is an unnecessary amount of F-bombs dropped in the american side of the campaign. the Russians are more or less clean, preferring to cure in their native tongue, so if you don't understand Russian, its alright. Its kind of disturbing, hearing Japanese forces screaming as they are burned alive, but it teaches that was isnt just bang bang shoot em up; its real people, that feel real pain, just like you and me.
I have played the game before and its a really good game and the story line is unbelieveable. But my concerns are the blood and gore and language. The blood and gore is very noticeble and you can see peoples limbs flying everywhere. But other than that its a really good game for teens 13+
Very violent, gory, much more graphic than previous titles. However, as far as gameplay, very realistc, and accurately portrays the war. I say this game has good messages and role models, because this game clearly shows the "Good Guys" coming out on top. Your Sergeants have strong personalities and seem like good leaders.
Educational: learn about WWII
Violence: Blood, gore, zombie slaying
Language: really bad words
Money: zombies, buying weapons
Solution: graphic content turn down makes it Teen
Call of Duty: World at War was, back in 2008, the most violent Call of Duty game to date. The game is set in two campaigns - the Pacific campaign in which the U.S. Marines fight the Japanese and the Russian campaign in which the Soviets fight the Nazis. The game features a lot of intense violence both in its scripted scenes and its non scripted scenes. Some of the most violent scenes include the ending (in which your Sergeant brutally kills a German soldier with a machete), the beginning of the fourth mission "Vendetta" (in which you watch a massacre of your own comrades) and the beginning of the mission "Eviction" (in which your comrades interrogate a German soldier and then shoot him in the head with a rifle). Other violent scenes include one of your comrades getting shot in the head as he looks over the edge of a boat and watching your squadmate get whipped, a cigarette shoved in his eye and then his throat slit. There is lots of offensive language in this game (both in American and Russian) even though most players won't know how to speak Russian. All of the soldiers in the game (American, Japanese, German and Russian) are good role models because even though some of them were enemies with one another the soldiers still fought for their country. The game is heavily based off the Second World War and includes real life battles including the battle of Okinawa and the Russian siege of the Reichstag (Nazi Parliament Building) in Berlin. This game is only for mature kids over the age of 14 who can understand the difference between reality and video games and know that war is not cool - only hell.
Call of Duty: World at War captures the brutality of World War 2 in the final days of the war, when the Japanese are losing their islands to the Americans and the Red Army is closer to taking Berlin from the Nazi Party. The game's cutscenes feature information that is to-the-book true and captures World War 2's gritty violence and dark nature. As such, you can blow off peoples arms, legs and (rarely) heads blown off with shotguns. But this is how the war was like, man. 12 years olds can play this comfortably, and get them to play the campaign if they are studying WW2 in school.
