Three way tie for worst kid stuff: Gory, Sexual Content, and Language. It's extremely scary in a end of the world sort of way. Play it after the kids go to bed.
I am a 20 year old and I love this game. It IS extremely violent, but you get the most points for rescuing people from the zombies and crazy people. That is something that you have to do in order to beat the game. Although you have the choice to let some unimportant people die, you are portrayed as a hero saving many of them.
I play this game with my kid all the time. We both have adapted to zombie movies and games and we just cant get enough of them. The gameplay is easy, along with the storyline (as long as you know what you are doing). I would recommend this game or kids 10 and up. I think it could possibly be too confusing for some kids (IMO).
Not only is this game very bloody and irrevrent, but it is really hard to!
This game supports every concern on commonsense media! Dead rising has horrid and gory violence, you have to take pictures of! you see nude paintings, get extra points for taking pictures of partially dressed zombies and even can wear a dress and other irrevrent outfits. You are can use anything in the mall you are trapped in (the game is based on dawn of the dead and has fictional in-game brands) like TV's, umbrellas, buckets, push brooms, hammers, chain saws, chairs, cleavers and even teddy bears will draw blood! There are several boss fights, many are the traditional capcom style of boss fighting. Many of these fights include gruesome cut scenes showing thier death. And one boss fight aginst a clown shows two dead children cover in blood brefiley, this boss also falls on his chainsaws at the end showing gross amounts of blood. The violence, messages and images are vile. but this game is a challenging, fun, and addictive game that can be purchased for a good price at most retail stores!
i don't believe there is anything wrong with this game except the occasional use of hell and d*nm. Really gory but if the kdi has ever played halo or mortal kombat this game's gore should be no problem.
This is probably the bes zombie game, me and my kids play, its fun to play, blow off zombies heads, fight psychopaths, just like a real horror film, but does contains weapons like chainsaws, weed cutter(bloodiest one), and shotguns! but other than that! this game is terrific reccomend it for 9 and up!
Dead Rising, Well this game is about killing zombies with about any wepon in the real world. Lawnmowers, chainsaws, swords, guns.pickaxes, golf clubs, butcher knifes. you might be thinking OMG this game looks cool!! And it is, At first. You play for a couple of days and your having fun and all but after a couple weeks it gets boring. But Parents this game is very VERY violent. You can chop them up with a lawn mower or chop there head off with a katana.. any powerful wepon u get in ur hands and u kill a zombie with it... limbs will be flying. But theres no sex, drug and not much language. id say 14 and up cuse of the bad violence. but this game gets boring so buy it if u just wanna kill zombies all day
there is wine drinking(4+)
the sex: none
ok lets cut to the chase violence is gore filled but i will say(13-14+)
if you don't agree with me base the age by what you think of how your kid handles gore.
the is hell,da*n, and some s**ts(12+)your kid should atleast be 13 years of age.
I think this game is one of the best games on the 360, however the game can get frustrating real quickly. The only thing I disagree with the offical review is that the game is NOT based of Dawn of the Dead. It even tell you so on the cover.
George Romero and Tom Savini would be proud parents if they spawned this child. This game is a definite MUST BUY for any fan of the genre. This game actually made me twitch with delight as I relived my past during a time in the 80's where my friends and I actually played in real life "Dawn of the Dead".
I purchased this game a few weeks ago and I have not put it down. Many people are probably upset with the "Save" feature, but I happen to think it is a necessary let-down.
The infinite number of zombies that appear on screen at once, each doing their own shtick is amazing.
I find myself actually playing it like I am there for real. EG: I get hungry and I guide my character to the sandwhich shop and eat.
I cannot record a game and add in my own voice!!
The replay value alone is priceless.
I might buy another copy only because I know I WILL play this title so much it WILL warp!!
BUY ENJOY AND BOW TO CAPCOM
Ok it was a great storyline, Excellent game engine, compelling, suspensful and definately in the top 5 hardest games i have ever played due to the saving system...
Family Standpoint: no
Teenager: DEFINATELY... 360? K get it..
Adult: I don't know i would say 13-29 basically covers the demographic for this game...
This is the best game so far for the 360.
Its basically violent, gory and more violent. This all takes place against a zombie horde, so its not like a GTA game, where its innocent people. From chainsaws to bowling balls, dispatch the undead!
Sexuality is not in the front line, just on paintings etc.
Language is a PG-13 level like s--- and a-- (also take in mind that a PG-13 film allows a certain number of swear words, and this game is technically infinite, so you'll hear it more)
I disagree with the commercialism issue, because although it is similar to Dawn of the Dead, it is not endorsed or based directly on it.
Play this if you are 17+
I also played this game myself. I'm not going to go out there and really say a certain age should or shouldn't play this game. As long as your child has a grounded understanding of the difference between 'game world' and 'real world' then this game shouldn't be an issue.
It's basically just a revved up never ending zombie bash.
