Learning2
great game, but do the positive choices.
this game is great for older teens and young adults. but be careful, hard choices! do the positive! be the hero! not the asassin! avoid the romance of other characters, do not kill innocent people, its not a good idea. i do the positive choices including saving innocent people, slay demons, dragons and darkspawn. ill be the hero on each rpg!

Great Game
I really love this game although i havnt finished it. It is more of a mature game but kids that are 13+ shldnt have a problem with most of it. I havnt heard any really bad language, nothing you can't hear kids saying at school. There is some partial nudity from one of the demons because only the nipples are covered and just barely. The blood isnt really that bad, it doesnt even look like blood and you dont get scars or anything like that. You can make many decisions that wld be a good learning point for many kids. I'm 16 and my brother is 14 and we both sit and play the game and so far have had no real big problems.

a good solid experience
Do youpeople actually read your reviews? All of the missions that involve "Age inappropriate behaviour" are optional and the standard attention span of kids who the violence isn't appropriate for is not enough to get through the side quests involving the character's sexual side only show mostly hugging and kissing also it all takes place in UNDERWARE the characters are NOT naked. So what if homosexuality is possible but you should teach your kids to be accepting of these things.

Not for under 13s But perfect for 15+
This is a violent and gory game with sex and "drugs"(potions). Bu tthe thin to think is that the fighting and gore although there is very unrealistic and the gore is not as bad as you migh think. You basically run around with a sword (if your a warrior) then you wack it at this evil deamony thing and some red stuff comes out, it is not realistic and no scars show up on the enemies or you. I think that this game has an amazing and deap storyline and is very relevant and adresses many topics such as racism in a way that you can pu yourself in the shoes of someone who is being abused because of your race (humans hate elves and treat them as slaves). You are faced with many moral choices which are really deap and can be quite difficult if you get emotionally atached to the caracters who you play with, and seeing as you can build your own haracter you become him (or her). I dont think that this game is suitable for anyone under the age of 13 but for a mature 15 year old I think that this would be more that acceptable . There is so much story and depth to this game that it would take me a day to write about it, but this is not something which should be turned down just because of some gore, this is a deep and challenging game with lots to learn about life in it and should definitly not be passed for a 15+ year old. It would actually be a sin to not let a 15+ year olod play this game.

Visual effects make it inappropiate for kids/teens
This game is not nearly as inapproiate as you may think it is. As long as the child or teen can do a reality check easily and correctly and apply it while playing games, they should be able to play it with some graphical settings turned off. These graphical settings include anything involving blood or gore, or anything you may find inappropiate for the child/teen. The sexual content is typically masked by other conversation so that shouldn't be too much of an issue. However, if the child/teen experiences the sexual content at some point of the game, a discussion may be neccesary

Where to draw the line?
It's not a question of "Is it okay since there are other more _____ games out there?" It's a question of "When is it too far?" Fill in the blank with whatever you wish: violent, sexual, or vulgar! You can read the other reviews for what exactly is in the game. I haven't played it myself, although I have heard much from my friend and I have seen parts of it while over her house. Admittedly, the game's graphics are nice. It's really fun to be able to pick different backgrounds and stories (as is why it is appropriately named Origins). However, don't let the nice graphics fool you! I've read many reviews--for games, televisions shows, you name it!--that say "there are games that are more violent than this one." Does allowing your child to play this game because it is not the worst make it right? This is a great example of tolerance. By allowing something to happen because it is not the worst, you are gradually making whatever used to be seen as wrong "okay" or "tolerable." Eventually, the line will continue to be pushed back. Is that okay with you, as a parent? I've decided, although I am not a parent myself and I'm not even an adult yet, there are some things I can simply not tolerate. I do not like to expose myself to sex, violence, and cussing, but I know it's out there and I cannot avoid it. I have decided, I won't expose myself to any more of it than what I can't control. I agree with a previous review who said you should know your kid and what they can handle. It is especially important to talk to them on subjects associated with the game: sex, alcohol (it isn't the biggest problem, but it's there), violence, and moral decisions. I wouldn't recommend the game for a child, but if you do let your teen (or younger, God forbid!) play the game, you must, must, MUST talk to them about the themes and what is right and wrong. There is no doubt they will come into contact with similar things on television, in commercials, and in the real world. I also agree, if your child has trouble distinguishing reality from fantasy, make sure to stay away from this game. If that is a problem, I suggest you tackle that immediately! This game is the least of your problems in that case. In my experience, everything that the Mature label warns is in the game... IS IN THE GAME! So if you have a problem with your kid being exposed to sex, nudity, crude language, and whatever else is on the label, then don't let them play it. If you have to, look up scenes from it online. Decide for yourself if your comfortable with letting your kid play the game. Dont' wait until it's too late: your kid is playing the game and opts for some sex with an NPC. If you're not sure if the game is appropriate, then skip it. There's no harm done that way.

A Great Game for 13+
I got this game for my computer on my 13th bbirthday on the 20th and love it. The sex is not SEX but in underwear. Although you can got to the study in the beginning (as a human noble) and discuss a book that is to learn "sexual positions" and then inviting another male (if you pick male like I did) into your room but that has absolutely no explicit themes until the two get out of bed in underwear. You also can undress you character down to the underwear and run around partially nude. Haven't beaten it yet or met Zevran yet (which I look forward to). The language isn't bad nothing you won't hear. So I say for 13+

Dragon Age rocks!
This is a game that should not fall into the hands of players younger than 13.There is lots of blood, gore, violence, simulated sex, mature themes and language.I got it last year and haven't been playing it a lot yet but will get to it sometime, only completed half of the game.
