Mafia II is a stunning journey into the world of organized crime and the consequences that follow when living a Mafia lifestyle. A warning to all parents, if you let your kids play this game, make them promise to not open the Playboy magazines. I had heard about them before beginning the game, and I decided not to pick them up. There are a few sexual scenes besides the magazines, and there is a ton of inappropriate language. The f word is used over 200 times according to the ESRB, and other language includes p--sy, d-ck, pr-ck, b--ch, a--hole, racist words and phrases such as ch--k, slanty eyed f---, and a couple others. It features lots of smoking, drinking, and talks about selling drugs. It has a lot of violence as well. However the story of Mafia II is surprisingly enough extremely educational. It tells the story of Vito Scaletta, a young man who joins the mob. During his adventures, (SPOILER ALERT) he goes to jail, loses his mother, is alienated by his sister, has his house burned down, loses everything at one point, causes chaos among the organized crime world and in the end, loses his best friend. Even from the beginning, Vito is in it for money and respect. However along the way he begins to question what he is doing and begins to want to change his ways. And in the end, while he gets money and respect, he loses everything and everyone he loves, and it shows within the game, as Vito becomes fed up with the lying, cheating, and abuse within the crime world, and turns on members of his own crime family. It helps you realize one important message: Karma really is a b----.
