Parents need to know that this is the fourth title in a series of Pajama Sam software titles. While it's very fun to play, it isn't as in-depth as the earlier titles in the series. Still, it's worth exploring.
Pajama Sam, a flannel-clad youngster who becomes a pint-size superhero by donning his red cape, is back in his fourth computer adventure titled PAJAMA SAM: LIFE IS ROUGH WHEN YOU LOSE YOUR STUFF! As with his previous titles, Pajama Sam's escapades take place in his imagination where he transforms his childhood world into a fantasy world. This time, Pajama Sam ventures into a junk pile in his room to hunt for his cherished first edition Pajama Man comic book. In this junk-strewn world, Pajama Sam discovers that inanimate objects talk.
Pajama Sam interacts with about a dozen characters as he travels through nearly 30 scenes. Children have to figure out how to navigate their way through this wacky world, and then remember the locations of specific characters and places. They must collect items in one part of the adventure to use in other parts.
This is a delightful adventure that will keep children engaged and thinking for hours. If your children are new to the Pajama Sam series, they will be enthralled.
This title isn't quite as polished as its predecessors. Some scene changes have long lag times and the lip-syncing is off a little. This adventure is shorter than the previous three, and its replayability isn't as good because not as many things change when you play it again. Nevertheless, it is still an adventure worth undertaking.
Families can talk about what kind of adventures they might encounter if they imaginatively explored junk piles in their rooms. Do you think this software might encourage anyone to let junk pile up? Is that OK?
