Ease of play

very confused as to why getting punished for wrong answers is seen as a bad thing, like, yeah, it's a video game? If there wasn't punishment for wrong answers you could just shove evidence in people's faces until something works which would completely defeat the purpose of it being a murder mystery game? Anyways, these are great games, I haven't actually played trilogy but I've played all of the DS/GBA counterparts and the stories are all amazing.

Great storyline; some mature stuff

Great game. Some touchy subjects - suicide, blackmail, and of course murder. Some cartoon blood and very little gore. Occasional innuendos, rarely "damn"/"hell". Three lines some may find objectionable are at https://www.reddit.com/comments/hfzuml Also some cleavage, slightly revealing outfits, etc shown. The third case of the third game has some weird gender jokes that do show its age. Great storyline. Requires plenty of reading and logic. Lots of multidimensional characters. It's an exaggerated version of the Japanese court system. You might want to watch a video of the first case or two to get an idea of what the game is like.

To be honest, I think this series is pretty suitable for ages 10 and up, it does handle with topics such as murder, but blood is rarely shown. Some of the characters have pretty suggestive sprites, but the most suggestive thing that i've seen yet, is the character April May wic when she winks her breasts do, how do I describe it, breast physics. (For the people who want to know, this is how it looks https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fteeheewink-blog.tumbl…) The humor is, although pretty mature, very funny and had me laugh a few times. For example in justice for all episode 2, you meet a girl called pearl fey, and when detective Gumshoe sees her he says "Here kid, have a look at this, a real life pistol!" and then phoenix says "Gumshoe, don't show her something so dangerous!" wich definetly had me laugh. I also learned some more from this game, I learned what point blanc is, and I, myself was 10 when I started with the series.

Ace Attorney: Turnabout Amazement

Let's make this short and sweet; Ace Attorney is an amazing game. Characters are on. Point. They're amazing, they have interesting backstories, amazing designs- even the minor characters you barely see for a bit. The game is a text based one, so there's a lot of reading involved; I heard a whole game is the amount of words that are in a novel! Also, the court system is decent; while not all accurate, it gets close. Minus the parts where the judges usually sides with the prosecution and other related things. (SPOILER WARNING: I mean, you do get knocked out by a whip at one point, along with a cup of coffee to your head so...) There are scenes that include blood, dead bodies, vague-ish stabbing, and so on. This is what moves my review to 13 and over; Ace Attorney, while having an amazing story, has some semigraphic scenes to go along with it. There's also the occasional "Damn" and at one point in the first game, "A**" is said by one of the characters in the first game. Other than that, that's basically all that's involved curse word wise. I will update my review if I find more in the second and third games. Trilogy is amazing and worth getting if you are interested. (Suggest you get it on sale though) TL:DR: Amazing game with awesome characters and stories. Includes very minor curse words and some semigraphic scenes that include blood. Update on the 2nd and 3rd Game: Nothing much has changed! A part from a few things, worthy enough to note: - Blood use is still heavily used throughout the game - There's a mention of Matricide (Killing your own mother) - Spirit use is also heavily used; In the game, it's known as Spirit channeling - There's a lot of mention of moving dead bodies (Spoiler warning beyond this point for the trilogy as I'll be addressing certain characters) - Some of the female characters (Mia Fey and April May, as example) in the game have outfits with a lot of Cleavage. - There are perverted characters (Victor Kudo for example). - Predatory Characters (Maxmillion, Terry Fawles) appear in game and them being predators is not directly addressed by characters/protagonists I personally do not mind these things, I just find them note worthy just in case any parents are concerned. TL: DR again; Great game, great story. Some blood, cursing, cleavage from female characters, perverted characters, and predators who are not addressed. Although, if you or your child is mature, Ace Attorney is a great game with amazing writing.

One of the only games that's kept me so attached.

This game is extreme... ...ly good. Role models? Of course. This game is about the law system, though it's not always accurate, it's pretty close. I did need a walkthrough at times though. There's barely any swearing, just the word "Damn". And for those who wanna view it that way (me) something going on with two of the characters, Wright and Edgeworth, but it's not for me to confirm, just that magazine that confirmed it. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, it makes me really happy. Also, you're going to fall in love with (most of) the characters, believe me. A super good game that keeps making me come back for more.

An absolute joy to read & interact with

Phoenix Wright has little to no bad content, almost every case shows a corpse that has a little bit of blood, one of the culprits has a cigarette, Jake Marshall from Rise From The Ashes, the final case in the original game, drink alcohol, & that is all I have experienced so far in the game. Granted, I did not finish the trilogy & am only up to the 2nd case in the 2nd game, but that is all the bad content I have experienced so far. Now onto the gameplay. It is very slow, yet entertaining (at least to people like me). While I technically think that this game is perfectly fine for 8 year olds, they will probably either find it boring, or not be smart enough to finish the game without constantly using a guide, & will get bored of it that way. Your job as Phoenix Wright, a defendant attorney who needs to prove that their client is not guilty of murder, has to point out contradictions in statements, determined by both selecting the statement that contains the lie, & presenting the evidence that proves that said statement is a lie or, at the very least, incorrect. Defeating the enemy is extremely satisfying, & I highly recommend for those who want to try a visual novel. I gave it 4 stars, because as much as I love the game, it is not for everyone & impatient people will, sadly, miss out on the game because they are not interested enough in the gameplay or story to care

Fun game about being a Lawyer

Overall: Mild Violence (wouldnt reccomend if you're squeamish) Positive Role Models (you're making sure innocent people dont go to prison, also murderers always get caught) Lots of reading (this game is very lengthy due to how much you have to read, if your kid is a good reader then I reccomend it! Suggestive themes (very mild, also cleavage) Mild Depictions of dark themes (suicide, murder, blackmail) It's a reading game where you just investigate mysteries and then prove who is the guilty person in court.

Objection! Why Haven't You Played This Game

This is a surprisingly high octane anime-style courtroom adventure. It is so fun defending the innocent people in court, but here is where the game starts to get a tiny bit tedious. When you're not in court, you're investigating at different location. Sometimes this is very fun, but sometimes you don't know what to do and just hope that the trial is coming up soon, but overall a great game.
