Best...game...ever!
test problems seem like the puzzles now. there is a death in the beginning, and some over protective adults may say "oh, no. you cant play that. people get hurt." but really. death is unseen, and its not even real. puzzles can be hard, but some puzzles are not required to continue with the game, so one may skip through some puzzles.

A great game for the young and the bright.
One of the most spectacular educational games ever created for the main reason that it is barely possible to notice it is an educational game. It has beutiful music and graphics that are comperable of point and click adventures you would find on the pc. The puzzles are addicting and give a good hint system that reward explorers. The puzzles are well intergrated to the story. the only age appropriate issue is the difficulty of the puzzles but this is a game that rewards the bright and while younge kids will just be frustrated an older, bright child will be rewarded by such an entertaining games.

Personally, my favorite for the Nintendo DS! It might be too challenging for children under 12, and maybe a bit frightening, but it is just perfect for 12 and up. If you love puzzles, this is for you!

Great educational game
Everything about this game is good, from the music to the puzzles and the good storyline. The only iffy thing is at a point in the game they sort of happen upon a strip bar (although they pass it off as a "theater" and the strippe- er, actor is flirting with luke and layton.

super interesting
the puzzles are super hard but loads of fun! i finished it in a day!! i dont think anyone younger than 10 should play it, just because it might be too complicated and end up being as waste of money.

Fantastic. Period.
This series is one I consider the best for the DS. It challenges your mind, has great characters, and great charm. Buy this one, the first one, and the rest of the series beause your money will be well spent. p.s. @jsg15, I know you probably think it's funny and cool to give away a major plot twist to whoever reads these comments, but it's not. Don't spoil the game for those who haven't played it.

BEST GAME EVER
I thought this game was simply enchanting!!! I finished it just today. It was hard, but I got through it! The one thing I am upset about is that the girl, Flora, is totally helpless! She feels faint from exitment every 3 seconds! But the new game in japan, professor layton and the spector's flute, has a girl that does some serious stunts. Sweet!

Hard puzzles build brains!
Education: Solving some of these puzzles require math, logic, or just an odd mind. I have all three. Easy to Play: By only using the stylus, Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box makes playing devilishly simple. Just tap, tap, and tap. Role Models: Layton constantly reminds his young protoge to "be a gentleman." or " A gentlemen always is polite in the presence of a lady" Layton also whole-heartedly protects all the children that are in sight, even against a presumed vampire. Suggestive Material: In town, there is a Cabaret. You never can go inside, but a lady with a fur boa around her neck. She seems almost provocative, but does nothing to suggest mature material, just tells Layton that " nothing relaxes like a night at the theater"

Just great!
This is a great game and I love the story it's so great and it's sort of sad at the end and a few points are a bit creepy like *spolier* when Luke and Layton dream that they're in this ballroom and everyone tries to eat them and then they wake up and are tied up in a basement. It's such a fun game and the puzzles are genius and make you feel smarter but there were some puzzles not even my father could solve and he's a pretty smart person even with the hints but don't worry plenty of online sites have the answer when you get stuck which everyone does. Plain and simple this game is super fun and addicting!!!!

Yay Luke!
I thought that the puzzles in this game may have been to easy, but that made the game almost more fun because I didn't get frustrated as much. The story is very good, although the vampire thing was a bit out there. I like the first game's puzzles better and the puzzles of the last game better, although I'm still working my way through that one. I think that this game's music is the best along with it's before and after the puzzle screens. The game is great and helps with logic skills, whether it be building them or sharpening them. Also, Anton freaks me out. But only because I kept mistaking him for a girl.

Allright but not my favorite.
This game is not as good as the first and last... I like the beginning and middle... but the ending where the lead you to believe the bad guy is a vampire, the puzzles at the end are a little to much...okay a lot to much. I did like the videos but the stuff in the game may not be good for kids but okay for tweens.
