The Sims 3 is a great game. It is on a rather realistic side, as it is life simulation. It contains hours of fun. The environment is much more open than the first two of the series.

I love this game, with the variety it gives you while playing. Just watch out for some of the options, they can get to be a little sketchy for the younger age groups. It is a fun game, and there are many things that you can do including building homes, and creating sims that look like people that you know.

Fine for my 12 year old son!
This is a life simulation game in which players can customize and control avatars (Sims) through several stages of life and its daily activities. Players are free to pursue a variety of goals as they observe and attempt to influence and nurture families of Sims. These avatars often interact socially, which can sometimes lead to mild flirtation or more intimate encounters. Players can choose to “try for a baby” or “WooHoo” with another Sim. These two actions cause the selected avatars to jump into bed and go under the covers... the covers do move around a little bit, (but it's not very inapropriate considering you really can't see anything) until confetti bursts over the bed. Sims characters need to maintain their health and hygiene and do so by eating, exercising, bathing, and using the toilet, which is depicted by a blurred, pixilated effect and trickling sounds. Avatars can also vomit, emit flatulence, and wet themselves if no toilet is available or offered. As in real life, Sim characters can die of old age; they can also die as a result of neglect or starvation. Certain animations depict the avatars dying in fires, drowning in pools, and getting electrocuted by household appliances. My child is only 12 years old and I do not find this as an inapropriate game for my child. I bought Sims 3 at Walmart and when I was at the register I asked the Gentleman at the register if the sexual themes on here were inapropriate and he said "No, I belive it is labeled that way to be on the safe side with some of the parents that are more protective of what their kids see."

VIOLENCE: Children Sims and onwards can engage in violence of both the physical and verbal sort in the game. This violence never gets too graphic, however, as it is depicted in a comical or cartoonish way. Teen Sims and onwards can die of old age, fire, electrocution, starvation or drowning. Again this is done in a cartoonish way but may upset those who have experienced these issues. Sims will grieve for the dead but only for a short while. The dead return as ghosts and float around locations in the game. The ghosts are comical in appearance but can scare Cowardly Sims. Sims sometimes die or get involved in violence due to player's acts. Babies, toddlers and children do not die in the game and are rescued by a Social Worker if they are in danger of death. The Grim Reaper and ghosts may scare very young children. DRINKING, DRUGS AND TOBACCO: Sims do not take drugs or tobacco. Sims can own bars but the drink they drink from the bar has no effect on them whatsoever and Sims cannot get drunk. Only Young Adults, Adults and Elders can drink from the bar. SEXUAL BEHAVIOUR: The game is not openly graphic in sexual behaviour. Teenage Sims and onwards can date, flirt and kiss other Sims regardless of gender. Teen Sims can only become involved with each other but Young Adult Sims, Adult Sims and Elder Sims can become involved with Young Adults, Adults or Elders regardless of gender. Young Adults, Adults and Elders can marry and jump under the bed covers and "Woo-Hoo" where any sexual acts are hidden. You can hear the Sims giggle however and some light, infrequent groaning. Sims can Woo-Hoo in public places but their always hidden from view and if caught by a policeman, they are fined. All Young Adults, Adults and Elders can conceive children except Elder females. Morning sickness is present in a comical way in the game where green liquid comes from the Sims mouth as they puke in a toilet. This is not presented in an overly graphic way. When a Sim goes into labour, a puddle of water appears under that Sim and it starts having contractions although not in an overly graphic way. The birth of a baby is hidden when the Sim is taken to the hospital but a home birth simply sees the Sim covered in sparkles, spinning on the spot and a baby appears in the Sims hands next. Sims of all ages and genders are exposed nude when bathing or using the toilet but any private areas are faded out so they are impossible to see. LANGUAGE: As Sims speak the fictional language of Simlish, there is no bad language in the game. CONSUMERISM: You are encouraged to buy objects and products for your home, especially expensive ones that are implied to be designer or brand name objects. Some products, such as cars, appear to parody real life branded products. MESSAGES: The messages portrayed in The Sims are really based on the players. Some Sims can be given negative traits such as evil and kleptomaniac or good traits such good or friendly. How your Sims act depends on what the player and sometimes what the Artificial Intelligence system does but no seriously good or bad messages are portrayed in the game. Sims will moan on the Create A Sim screen if they are made too fat or too thin. Underage sex is discouraged in the game as Teens can not have sex or get pregnant. ROLE MODELS: Again, the same points applied to 'MESSAGES' applies here too. Sims can be good role models or bad role models depending on how the players creates them or intigates their actions. SAFETY: Parents or guardians may want to play the game with their children and monitor the situation but this game never becomes too graphic. EASY TO PLAY: The game may look overwhelming to play at first but players should get used to the interface fairly quicky and hence the game is quite easy to play. EDUCATION: Players will be required to read as the game contains no understandable dialogue. They will also develop skills in time managment and endless creativity.

12-13+ frustrating for under 11-12...
great addicting game but for kids and little teens who do not understand sexuality, because it could get frustrating.. and kids playing it should know about same-sex love sexuality and marriage because surely he'll or she'll find out about it... and the make out thing and the woohoo and try for baby are like also frustrating for kids aged under 11-12... there's nothing visible caracters go under a blanket... i recommend this for ages 12-13 and up its a verry gd game...

Any Age Above Ten
Wow. Fifteen is late seriously. By fifteen most teens have already had THREE sex ed classes, not mentioning all the talk that goes around school. The violence...by thirteen most children have seen one or two fights around school so it's not like it's going to scar the child for the rest of the night. You can make a very good family that are perfect role models for children, like someone who has a job, got married, and had children. There are positive messages, like if you work hard you get a promotion. The game is safe as well as educational...I learned things from the Sims like that ratatouille is a real dish...Think I spelt it right. And it is very easy to play...especially with the help of cheats!

Iffy 15? More like iffy 9. Where did you get the rating? The ESRB. Should be E-10. The Sims aren't that offensive. A fourteen year can handle this game.

Hey Parents!
Although this game has some of the same aspects of the previous installments it is alot more mild. I purchased this game at Best Buy yesterday for my 11 year old son. He is a big fan of the Sims franchise and I am too. I knew it would have some of the same things as the first and second Sims but in all honesty it is not as sexual as the first two. I was shocked but glad for my son's sake. Hey this game is no big deal parents and any kid over 10 should be perfectly fine with it. (It is no worse than most PG-13 movies).

I love this game but the only thing is that if you have an ipod touch iphone or simply internet they lure you in like I first played a teaser on the website then I downloaded the the sims 3 lite version but then I was so addicted I got the full version on my ipod touch and I loved it so much I got it for my PC and then I realized I invested over 50$ and that it had practically taken over half my life but it was just so great

This game is AWESOME! I play it alot. There is some sexual behavior but you can never see anything and it depends on what YOU do. It might be a little difficult for kids under 11 because it gets frustrating if your sims keep dying.

I heart sims. Time consuming, yes, but isn't every computer game? Parents, if you're concerned about sex and stuff in the game, IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW YOU PLAY IT. You can "make babies" without all the woohooing at the beginning of the game by clicking the pacifier. Voila! You have a child without any sex. It all depends on who's playing the game.

Favorite computer game!
I love it. You can make whatever sim you want, whether she's a preppy cheerleader or an irritable goth. It's a fun way to create a different family. Some sexual content (you can "woohoo" or even try for a baby) but you don't have to do that unless you click on it! Depends how you use the game.

I don't see how some people find it too "sexual" or whatever you want to call it. They blur out anything bad, plus aren't you the one controlling it? Rofl,so why don't you stop being so "sexual" and make them do what you approve of ;). Personally,I love the Sims 3. It's by far my favorite overall. I can't wait for new EP's.

Great for kids 10 and up!
The game Sims 3 is for having fun and interacting with other computer people. In Sims 3 you must take care of all of the Sims you have created! You need to make sure their hygiene is up and healthy by giving them showers (which "private areas" are covered by a large blur which makes this game appropriate for ages 10 and up if you wanted to be on the safe side), you must feed them food (if you are not a high enough level in agility you might just burn the house down using the oven or stove!!!), you must make sure all of the Sims get enough sleep and resting time, the sims must be happy... your Sim could die of starvation, and many other types os things including being lonely or having a broken heart! Sims can interact with other sims (which are not online people... just computer people) in a relationship. They can "WooHoo" which involves two sims going in bed, going under the covers, and the covers do m ove a slight bit but it is not inapropriate for most kids 10 and up. I mean, you really cannot see anything. The couple can also "Try For a Baby" which involes the same thing as "WooHoo". The difference beetween "WooHoo" and "Trying For a Baby" are that in "WooHoo" the women will not become pregnant. the Sims eventually grow old and die away, or they might die of starvation, drowning in a pool, or getting electricuted by household appliances. This game is rated "T" for teen... although it is not that apporpriate.

A great game for tweens, teens, and adults
this game is definently my favorite game on pc. The sex "woo hoo" in the game is not graphic at all i mean you can't see anything. Violence isn't an issue because its portaryed in like a cartoonish funny way. It is also a game that stimulates the imagination that you can create any kind of house you want, make your sim look like any movie character, or musician, or a friend, or yourself! Its just such a fun, creative, game that takes the best things in life and crams them into one perfect game

It's a good game
I love this game to death. If you're worried about censorship, anything and everything that could be and is bad is censored. When the Sims take a shower for instance, they are blurred so you don't see anything. They speak a nonsense language (Simlish?) so there are no bad words. Your Sim is rewarded with good things when they do nice things and work hard, like getting promoted at work and making a friend. It also teaches you to save and spend money responsibly, because you need to buy a house, furniture, food, and so on. There are even weekly bills that you have to pay. If you don't pay the bills, one of your items gets taken away to cover the cost. It's a little difficult to play at first, but you get used to it. The only other problem I can think of is that it's addicting. XP

An almost perfect game that's suitable for most
I love The Sims! "Nudity" is blurred, they speak in Simlish so there are no bad words, but "Woohoo" and making out are included because it is a real-life situation game. I think it has positive messages because bad sims can be arrested and other sims hate them. Good sims that donate to charities and complement others are rewarded with higher moods and best friends. It is simple to play and can teach children how to manage money, run their life, and businesses. Sims 2 is also a good choice, its just slightly different because of expansion packs. I play sims!!

SIms 3 is AWESOME!!! If one of your sims dies then the Grim Reaper comes, and that can scare some people. And one of my sims slapped another sim, I don't know why but it wasn't nice, but it was real funny.

Not too long ago I played it and one of my sims died, then the grim reeper came and took my sim to the graveyard. Next thing I know I just happened to see a ghost pop out my sims toliet. This is one creepy and funny game. but i still love the game.
