First of all, this is an amazing game. Outstanding. But it IS a it inappropriate at some points. The enemy is absolutely ruthless; he will kill his own men if they are disobedient, and he kills an innocent man in cold blood. Nathan Drake is an exceptional role model for doing what he likes which is fortune hunting, but he always gets caught up in these messes, which he doesn't like or want. But throughout the game, he racks up a large body count with MANY different types of guns. But some of the things he does, (jumping from building, swinging on poles, etc.), are absolutely amazing. This game also has AMAZING graphics, much better than any other game. This game is also a bit educational and got me a bit into history, (which was nearly impossible), as it has all the background information of Marco Polo and what happened to him and his men, but about halfway through the game it starts to get more fiction-like, (obviously). This game should definitely be 'T' for the loads of violence and one sex-related scene. And I must say, while playing other games such as Call of Duty at my friend's house, (I'm not allowed to play 'M' games yet), Uncharted 2 is very similar in terms of violence, but not in language. All in all, I find this game exceptionally great, but really only for 13 and up. Some parts, (including Drake getting shot in the gut and blood spewing out), could be a bit frightening for younger kids
The other side of the gaming story (kids opinions)
Great game. I don't see why the website says "not for kids" on most of the games i play. Its just that i know the difference from right and wrong. I beleive kids 11+ can play this!
You can turn off online interactions, which seems to be the main problem for you guys. Then they can't go online, talk to people, all that jazz.
My only concern is the sex but if at age 10 they don't have a clue about making babies there's a problem. You don't have to describe the entire thing, but they should know enough that when two people are in bed like that they are having sex.
I wasn't very impressed at the end of the game, but I had a lot of fun at the beginning. It is violent, but not overly, one of the better shooters that deserves its wider audience. Women in the game are dressed sexually. It also features a good dose of history while keeping entertainment its main goal.
Hey, I admit it, I love this game. Of course there is some blood, but nothing as graphic. One time, for instance, a guy get's murdered by the sychopathic bad guy. BUY THIS GAME!
Way better than the original, and more appropriate.Parents wont like the shooting, but most of the game is obstacles, and the only langauge is like one s word, but the rest is mild.
if you like the first uncharted, get the much better sequel.
i played the demo at super target earlier today, and i camped out it the game isle for about an hour. it was so fun! it did have violence, and when you get shot your screen splatters with blood on the corners. not anywhere close to being as bad as the original.
This game is one of the best on the ps3. The concern of violence should be put into small consideration. You can kill people then blood can be seen but it is nothing to be worried about. During the game you can hear swear words and also at the beginning the main character is seen drinking beer, nothing big there though. It is also easy to play, my friend came over and he picked it up and beat a chapter.
Fast, funny and intense sequel is best experienced by teens
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves first debuted in 2009, a sequel to a very good game named Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. Personally, I think that while this game is actually a little bit overrated with all of the reviews and the universal acclaim, it is still a very good sequel, and can even stand up on it's own right, even if playing the original would help a little better to get you more familiar with the plot, characters and various others franchise trademarks. Still, even though this game is only Rated T for teen, this is not a game for young children or even young tween's, with lot's of bloody shootouts and constant action sequences, some sexual references including a implied sex scene early on in the game, and also, frequent profanity which is much stronger and more frequent than in most other T Rated games, but there are no F-words. Finally, I would just like to say, that while, yes, this game is quiet overrated, it is still a heck of a lot of fun and if you are a gamer and own a PlayStation 3, than check this game out immediately, if you haven't already done so.
multiplayer just mute other people and single player skip videos that are innapropriate. Done! (imma kid and i play this game because i cant play M games
So, when my parents let me buy the game, I was extremely ecstatic. Here's why: this game had incredible hype, received over 50 game of the year awards, and to this day is still revered as one of the greatest games of all time. But I can't say my parents shared my enthusiasm for the game... atleast in the preliminary stages... My parents actually watched me play about 80% of the game and at points, my dad would say things like, "Wow, look at the graphics of that scene!" Or, after a particular swear word, a disapproving grunt. But it truly is amazing how my dad's attitude changed over the course of the game. He legitimately fell in love with game! He loved the graphics, the action-movie like theme, etc. In fact, my used-to-despise-video-games-father now tells me to change from the game im playing at the moment to Uncharted 2. That's how good it is. No joke. Sure, there's the expletives to be wary about and the gameplay involves constant shooting. But in the end, this game leaves you with such a lasting appeal. Something I haven't had in a very long time.
I thought uncharted was a great starter game for me. The cinematic experiences were truly memorable. I can still remember hanging off a cliff, clutching one of the bars in a train as it dangled off the edge. I think this game would apply more to teens and adults for it to truly be appreciated. At some points, drak, the protagonist, will curse. But when you're being by giant armored gorillas armed with crossbows, something is bound to slip, you know? Gunfights play a large part in the story, but so do interesting puzzles. I think is acceptable for the rating it gets: T
