What Parents Need to Know
This review of Wheels on the Bus was written by Jinny Gudmundsen
Parents need to know that this is an interactive version of the children's classic song brought to life on either the iPhone or the iPod Touch. In addition to hearing the song sung in 5 languages, kids can participate in the action by touching the device's screen to make the bus roll along the road, open the doors to the bus, and even make the windshield wipers go "Swish." Parents and kids familiar with the song will delight in the new verses introduced here.

What’s the Story?
The WHEELS ON THE BUS App for iPhone or iPod Touch is a colorful rendition of the classic children's song made interactive by touching the device's screen. The song is presented as a book with arrows on the corner indicating how to turn the page to access the next verse. There are 8 pages featuring favorites like making the windshield wipers go "Swish, swish, swish", and the bus driver using her arm to indicate "Move on back." New verses feature a baker passing out cakes and a fish in a tank popping bubbles. Kids control the actions on the screen by tapping their fingers on objects or in the case of the bus, moving their finger across the screen to get it rolling.

Is It Any Good?
Bright bold graphics help to draw little ones into the action of playing with this favorite song. Plus, there are many interactive "hotspots" on each page which animate when tapped or poked. The lyrics can be heard in English, Spanish, German, Italian, and French; and the music can be sung or played by a variety of instruments. This adorable game is well worth its 99 cent cost and is one that kids will want to watch and play with over and over again. Close
