Parents need to know that ABC Flash Cards for Kids is a free app where kids can see capital and lowercase letters, hear the letter names (but not sounds), and see a word that begins with the letter. For example, the "B" card has an image of a boy on the flip side. The app sometimes displays banner ads that are close to where kids need to tap to flip the card, so it's easy for kids to end up in a browser window.
ABC FLASH CARDS FOR KIDS is a basic letter names app, and it does a decent job of connecting letter names to the letter. It's not particularly engaging, though, and won't hold kids' interest for very long. Plus, there are a few quibbles: The typeface choice could have been better for kids learning to identify letters, and the words on the flip side of the flash card start with capital letters -- regardless of whether you kid is learning capital or lowercase letters.
Whether you are looking for an app to help kids learn their ABCs, or you just want a free app to entertain your child for a bit, there are better choices out there.
