Parents need to know that Everyday Mathematics Baseball Multiplication 1-12 Facts is a baseball-themed educational game for kids to practice multiplication. The game is very simple to play and rewards correct answers with runners on base.
Need a way to make multiplication more fun? EVERYDAY MATHEMATICS BASEBALL MULTIPLICATION 1-12 FACTS tries to do that by tying the times tables to a baseball game. Two players take turns at bat, and each pitch has a multiplication problem attached to it. Enter the correct answer, and you get a hit. The higher the answer, the farther the batter runs. Miss, and you get a strike. Players play for 3 innings. The game has some cute animation and an announcer's voice adds to the mood. Baseball fans may find this a fun way to practice their math; kids who don't like baseball may find it boring.
The game is for two players, without a single-player mode. Also, sometimes there are random "outs" before the player gets a problem -- otherwise if everyone was answering correctly the inning would never end -- but it does seem unfair at times. This game adds a little flavor to practicing multiplication, but in the end it mostly comes down to punching in numbers. There is also a version with 1-6 facts for younger students called Everyday Mathematics Baseball Multiplication 1-6 Facts.
